Anyone upgrade their amp yet? Came across this plug & play amplifier install by Beat-Sonic but have no history with them. Their amps any good?

TRD Jon installed one, I believe he has a YouTube video up about it.

I found that the JBL system sucks, but sounds much better if you set the front/rear balance to between 50-75% to the rear. Then it doesn't sound like everything is coming out of the speakers on top of the dash.

Are you referring to the "JBL Premium Audio System" listed on on the Premium 4rRunner trims? If so, that's disappointing. I was hoping that I would get something that was top notch.

Would it work with the base audio system?

I don't have an issue with the premium audio, but like any sound system, found tweaking it to your preferred settings is best.

Installed it took all of 15 min. Definitely a noticeable difference when it fired back up highly recommend for the price and the simplicity. I have the JBL premium 14 inch and just had to slide it in at a 45° angle on the right side to get passed the removable speaker pocket.

Thanks for the update! So the install was pretty easy? If you could assign it a percentage, do you think it’s 20% sounding better? More?

I would say 30 percent easy. Increase in Bass and better treble. Worth it
Thank you! Appreciate it. In my Pro, I’d say the premium JBL is just okay, not fantastic, but not bad. It would be nice to upgrade it a bit.

Which amplifier did you purchase and install? Just want to make sure I get the right one.

Installing mine this morning on my SR5. ENA-3T3-5 is the model. It does not matter if you have base or JBL. The unit is the same and the install is the same.

Well install took all of 15 min. They have changed it a bit as there is no longer a ground wire to have to bolt to the side of the radio. They do not even mention a ground wire in the instructions anymore. Impressions on NON-JBL SR5 system is it is about 15-20% better sound, not as big a difference as I was hoping for. It may be more of an improvement for the JBL because you are starting out with better system to begin with. Is the improvement worth $350 on the SR5...probably not. I got it because it was plug and play and small and could fit behind the radio. You get more volume at lower setting and the sound is a tad cleaner. If you really want this unit to sound a lot better it will probably require new speakers and some sound deading material in the doors. It still sounds x10 better than my GTI base radio right from the factory...the beat sonic just bumped it up a bit.
