The problem with asking this question is you will get people who like different things than you responding. You arent going to know if it sounds good to you unless you experience it yourself.
It's not a problem for me. I'm just curious to hear owners' opinions about it & whether most who reply like it or don't like it. It's all in the eye of the beholder...or in this case the ear of the beholder.

So do you own or have you heard (in person) the TRD Performance Cat-Back Exhaust in action?

So true. I heard them back to back and so that's a different perspective than another person who hasn't necessarily heard the stock exhaust or just likes louder exhaust. I just think this exhaust in particular offers the tone and timbre that a lot of import exhaust modifications seem to do. It doesn't make it bad or the evaluator wrong, just not something everyone will want.
As someone who had heard the stock & TRD performance cat-back exhaust back to back, you've said you personally & pretty strongly didn't like the TRD exhaust. Your opinion of course & I appreciate it especially because you've had the opportunity to hear both back to back in comparison. Thank you again for sharing your opinion & insight. 🙏🏻

I do not and have not.
I definitely have enjoyed exhaust upgrades on other turbo 4 cylinders though.

Thanks for clarifying & contributing.

I'm a novice regarding exhaust systems but I would imagine that an “upgraded” exhaust on turbo 4 cyl engines would all sound pretty similar. I'm just most interested in the opinions & insights of those here who have heard & experienced specifically the “TRD Performance Cat-Back Exhaust” for our 6th Gen 4Runners.

To be honest, I don't want to visit a dealership & deal with the obligatory sales staff BS just because I'd like to hear & test drive a 4Runner equipped with the TRD Performance Cat-Back Exhaust. Hence I started this thread seeking opinions & insights from those who would like to reply & contribute.

Came with my Pro and I like it. There is a drone but I don’t find it overly obnoxious or bothersome. The radio sounds so good I don’t notice to care and with that it’s worth mentioning that I set my iPhone music sound settings to the highest quality lossless audio available over cellular and it really makes the system shine, it’s a noticeable improvement in quality.

The tldr. Turn your radio up and you won't know how bad the exhaust sounds?

From your recent contributions I'm guessing you're not a fan. Anyone grasping the English language surely has made this determination. We get it. Enough please.
