Today in the mail I got a letter from some other company NOT Toyota about a service contract saying if I need to contact them within 5 days to ensure eligibility.
It looks as if its some BS warranty coverage from one of these companies that scam people out of money but if their is some problem with your vehicle you will probably never get them to pay the repair bill. Their is no company name on the letter but they make it look like its from Toyota. Has anyone else received a letter like this?

I started receiving extended warranty junk mail soon after purchase. It sucks that they make it look very convincing. Some will fall for it.

now a days, all i get is bills in the mail (all my bills are paid via online bill pay). everything else is junk (cc offers, loan offers, warranty offers, etc) so 99% of my mail is just ripped up and thrown away.

its almost getting to the point where i should just open them up and send all the paperwork back blank in the post paid envelope

Before I got the 4R, I spent a couple of weeks researching and calling dealers about a new Grand Highlander. I now get extended warranty junk mail about every two months. I did not even buy or register. Must of been a dealer selling my info.

Each mail piece has Toyota Grand Highlander text on the envelope.

That is why I don't check my mail until after about 3 months just to throw it all away. Can't remember the last item, non-package related, I got something of value in the mail. Still surprised they even exist and wonder how much money is wasted on the entire endeavor these days.

Yep…after purchasing my 24 Tundra TRD Pro and wife’s 25 4Runner ORP…same thing…fake “Toyota….” Heading but junk mail. Nice of the dealers or DMV to divulge our personal identity information so we get this sh&$….

Every week since I bought my 2026 Trailhunter, and once a month still for our 2023 RAV4 Prime. I expect they are all scams.

Same with Sirius. Buy a new car, then get useless Sirius junk mail and emails forever. We don't use Sirius and don't need it on cars.

If we need or want something, we know how & where to find it. I don't remember ever buying something because we saw an ad for it.

protip:

if you get any mail with the OPEN IMMEDIATELY or any other sort of urgency warning or official looking text or anything else

If it has
Presort Standard or "PRSRT STD" on it

it is almost always garbage**

Any official mail communication to you will not be presort std mail**

--------------------------------
**

  • Presorted Standard/Marketing Mail (PRSRT STD): Usually advertisements, flyers, or nonprofit solicitations.
  • Presorted First-Class (PRSRT 1ST CLASS): Often legitimate, time-sensitive, or personal information, such as credit card offers, bills, or newsletters.
  • Sender Check: If it is from a trusted company or has a personal, specific address (not "Current Resident"), it is less likely to be junk

That's what my wife does. If they're stupid enough to enclose a postage page envelope.

I too used to rip up the ad and put the pieces into the postage paid envelope and send it back but I got so tired of doing that I now just toss it into the trach bin in t he garage before I even get into the house.
