That's what I did. Got one hanging on the driver's door too. They work great.I have this hanging there. Great trashcan I can empty while getting gas. Holds large Gatorade bottles well. Wife also uses it as a phone holder at times too.![]()

How much was that? Why you didn't go with 1-month Carista app for $20 and $5 Bluetooth OBD2 adapter to do the same thing?Turned off annoying seatbelt warning chimes and MID messages. Turned off obnoxiously loud and stupid sounding ESE. Changed lane change turn signal count to six flashes. Used this:

Cool. That sounds like a $1k+ tool.. Do you own a repair shop or something? In 30+ years of owning a vehicle, I mainly use the Torque app to pull CEL code, then easily can find solution for it online.. all that features sound great but unnecessary for most regular owner. Guess your use case is different. I paid $20 1-month Carista app and hook it up with my bluetooth adapter. Then I use that to do basic/QoL adjustment.. Most functions work and seat belt chime removal works for 2026 models too.No recurring subscription for the Toyota-specific diagnostic and customization functions.
Standalone diagnostic tool that doesn't require a smartphone or Bluetooth connection.
Offline operation without relying on cellular service or Wi-Fi.
Long-term cost of ownership rather than simply the lowest initial purchase price.
Greater operational reliability, based partly on my previous problems with Carly (another app based diagnostic, service, and customization tool) and Bluetooth disconnections bricking modules.
Broad diagnostic capability, including full-system diagnostics, bidirectional controls, service functions, and vehicle customization.
Direct purchase from LAUNCH, with manufacturer support and warranty.
Control over your equipment, without depending on continuing subscription payments or access to an external service and need nothing if a module is replaced or programing is written over.
Currently, Carista cannot allegedly inhibit the seatbelt warnings on some 4Runners.
Additional customization not available currently with Carista.
No potential for forced updates or changing API that could render the app unusable for a period of time or forever.
<$170 shipped direct from the manufacturer. There is a report that the seat belt warning on some 2026 4Runners aren't accessible. I'm sure Carista is working on it.Cool. From what I read it is 7/2026 build date and newer. I can confirm that Carista didn't work for me. I ordered this scanner and will see if it works on my 4Runner. Fingers crossed!<$170 shipped direct from the manufacturer. There is a report that the seat belt warning on some 2026 4Runners aren't accessible. I'm sure Carista is working on it.
