I had this professionally installed by a shop. Supposedly super easy install. Took less than 1h total. He said he hid the wire under the plastic panels so no removal of head liner necessary. There’s a mounting button on Amazon that allows you to mount the rear camera to the push clip holding the headliner up. It’s in the fitcamx thread.

This is a few weeks ago, but figured I'd still share.

TRD Off-road Premium, swapped out top grille & headlights, (installed by shop, don't have the time to be pulling the bumper/grille off):
  • TRD Pro upper grille, gloss black with silver letters (Toyota Genuine #53101-35170)
    • I was concerned the gloss black wouldn't look right, turns out, it looks great!
  • Limited/Platinum Headlights
  • Camera hole plug (16mm hole plug from Amazon)
    • I did not want to move my camera since I only installed the upper grille, so I bought 16mm hole plug, fits perfect!
Overall, I'm very happy with the end result!

Here is the list of parts the dealer will be replacing. Looks like they mark up replacement parts by an average of 30%. But I wouldn't be responsible for any of it.

Gosh, so sorry this happened. They better take care of it. And then some.

They tried to cheap out and tried to say there was no damage to the hub & bearing assembly, thus not needing a replacement. But with what's happened, I want to make sure my 4Runner is safe to drive. I had to get Toyota Brand Engagement involved before they agreed to replace the hub & bearing assembly. A couple parts are on backorder so I'm hoping to have my 4Runner back within the next 3 weeks.

Almost $1,800 worth of damage...but it could have been a lot worse. Bummed to see that happened to you because of their error. But glad to see that they will cover the costs and make the repairs.

Doesn't sound like that Toyota dealership is any good. First, they caused damage to your vehicle from negligence. Then, they tried to weasel out of fixing everything that was damaged. I can't believe that they forced you to get Toyota Brand Engagement involved. If they truly understood and believed in customer service, they should have bent over backwards to make things right, hassle-free. They would have completely lost my trust. Do you have other choices for Toyota dealerships nearby? If so, I suggest to you, after the dealership fixes what they broke, that you take your future business to another Toyota dealership.
