Washer line chewed by Rodent

I've had my windshield washer line chewed by rodents, twice. Under 1,000 miles on my 2025 Off-Road Prem.
Anyone else have this frustrating experience? Paid the dealer to fix the first time. Thought I might give the repair a go myself this time.
Any input as to the repair and prevention would be appreciated ?

I hate that a lot of car manufacturers have moved too soy based wire insulation. Makes them too tasty for the rats/mice.

In my last car, I had a rat die while chewing some wires and got stuck. After I cleaned him out (discovered him only because every time I parked for 2 days, it smelled like a dumpster), I did all the inexpensive tricks in the book:

• Lined my parking spot in Irish Spring
• Sprayed Peppermint oil in my engine bay
  • Kept cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil in the engine compartment

No clue if these actually work

luckily in ND we dont have that issue for 6 months of the year. plus the sub division has free roaming cats so that takes care of some of the rodents and bunny rabbits roaming around also.

have plenty of trap in the garage also, had an issue where they would crawl into the sub floor and make nests in between 1st and 2nd floor finished basement.

took a summer to kill them all but havent had them come back since.
