Trip to Horseshoe Dam AZ 1/28

[2025 Big Red]

Did some wheeling to experience water release from Horseshoe Dam AZ. It’s an easy
10 mile gravel, ruts, washboard road to the dam. Spectacular site. Did check out some
dispersed camping areas. Special feature was walking under dam.

This brings back some good memories. I had a camping trip here with my family when I was probably 10. We went to bed on a nice calm night and woke up to 2ft of snow the next morning. I don’t think my parents checked the weather because we did snow camping plenty, but this time we packed up and went home. It was still such a good trip and one I remember still.

I think they are letting water out for the next few days. Check on line. They said starting on the 20th and releasing for two weeks.
