I just put a deposit down on a 2027 TRD Pro. Ice cap. Black interior. The truck should be delivered just before or just after the holidays.

I want to eliminate the factory rake and put 285/70/R18’s on the factory wheel. I’ve been reading about a level kit from both Torq Engineering and Wescott Designs.

Can you please give me some direction on which to choose as I want to keep the factory ride quality. Please supply the pros and cons to each.

Thank you in advance.

Did you try searching Westcott on the forum? Tons of information on Westcott, all good as far as I know.
I have. I just wanted to know the difference between the two products. Pros and cons. I just wanna level the front end so it’s even with the rear.

I have the Westcott kit on my PRO and ORP-Max. There's a lot of discussion on here regarding this system. I've been very pleased with my decision and would do it again in heart beat. As far as tires, I would max out with a 275/70/18 as the 285 gives you more sidewall bulge and contributes to less direct steering response along with being a heavier tire which contributes to decreased performance and fuel mileage. Several on the Land Cruiser Forum have switched from the 285 back to a 275 for this reason. Of course this only applies if you're planning to keep the stock rims and or stock width rim. Increasing rim width would eliminate this with a 285. I'm running Toyo OCAT3EVs on my PRO and LC. Search Westcott Lift/Level here and make an informed 'decision. Some run the full kit ( I am ) and some eliminated the Top Hats for a subtle rake. Good luck and keep us informed which direction you decide to go

Motopapa on YouTube has a good video with his trd pro and westscott. He left the top hats off to maintain a rake. He goes in detail with measurements showing with the top hats on it will eliminate a rake. I did the same as him with my ice cap trd pro with a red interior and I love it!

I ended up putting on micky Thompson 35's x 12.5 with the oem rims which really changed the whole look. I get compliments almost everyday lol. Had a cop a few weeks ago drive beside me having a whole conversation on how he loved my truck while slowing down traffic. It was funny too becuae I was on the phone with my wife and I told her that was a cop and she was like wtf lol?!

Congrats on the purchase. The White trd pro is stunning in person. It's a very crisp white!

Thank you for the feedback. I like the look of the pro in this thread. (https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/285-70-18-tires-on-trd-pro-stock-no-lift-looks-perfect.5916/)

I will be obtaining the same tires. I just wanna lift the front end so it’s even with the rear, and it seems like the more cost-effective route would be the Torq collar. I have something similar in my Bronco, a 2 inch spacer upfront, and it works great. It also has fox shocks.

Just wondering if there would be any drawbacks to this option vs the Wescott.

Ohh wow edited, I take it back some 27 pro's are allocated and they were not there last week when I looked. Did you get an allocation or are they just telling you "on the list" I see some Ice caps on there.

Good luck with getting it after the holidays. You could get really lucky but it took 13 months to get my 26 Pro. Just got it 2 weeks ago. They seem to make more at the end of the year vs spring/summer so you might get lucky but no 27s are allocated yet and it takes almost 2 months once allocated depending on where you live, train, truck delivery etc.

for the record I was told 4 months when I got on the list.

Hey,

They sent me the build and the VIN number. I already put down a deposit. They said it’ll be built between December 17 and January 20. 🙏

I put the complete Wescott Pre Collar lift on our ORP. Did that as much for getting the front out of the snow as I did to eliminate the rake. I searched the Westcott website and found a Toyota dealer listed as one of their authorized dealers. I made a 300 mile round trip just to have a Toyota dealer install the kit and have it in the Toyota records in case a problem comes up. My tires are and will remain the stock size but I have since installed a Warn winch and mount. The subsequent addition of the winch did not change how the vehicle sits. The ride and handling has not changed either.

I'm running the 2" Torq front and 3/4" Wescott Rear running a 285 which measures out to 34". SIts level. I did do the crashbar delete to eliminate rubbing while off roading.

I'll try and grab a pic tomorrow.

I do have the Dissent lo pro winch bumper which contributes it to being level, w/o it you will have a slight rear rake. I ran the 1" Torq before the bumper and that was almost perfectly level.

If you just run the WCD rear it will have a rake as the WCD gives more than 3/4".

Cool. Are you saying the TORQ 1 inch front end lift will level it with the stock rear? I just wanna raise the front end so it’s a level with the rear.

I’m in a 2025 Pro. 285/70/R18 with aftermarket wheels and Westcott preload collar lift with the front top hats. I see no rake on mine.
