Trying to decide between the Trailhunter and the Pro and wondering if there really is any advantage from the "performance exhaust" that comes on the Pro trim. Does it improve performance or mileage, or is it just the sound of it?

Not sure but why wouldn't you get the cheaper trim and just do a muffler delete or something?

Judging from dyno reports, you're probably better off gaining power/tq by filling up with premium gas instead. "Performance" exhaust by itself, on just about any vehicle, would be hella lucky to get even half of the ~10-20hp gains the 6th gen gets from premium gas.

These are turbo cars. Feel free to pm anytime. The concept that matters though is a boosted motor needs to breath, eat as much (coolest) air as it can, and a boosted motor needs to shit (exhale) as much as much as it possibly can. Anything that restricts that is not efficient, good for the motor. It is not at all good, or healthy to ever "choke" a boosted motor.

If you want to gain performance, Intercooler or a Tune should be the first thing you look at.
Not intake or exhaust, they mostly just give louder noises unless you have other supporting mods.

Mine can’t with the TRD Pro Performance Exhaust. But if I were you I’d go with something aftermarket. I’m gonna remove mine at some point

Magnaflow is supposed to be coming with a performance exhaust for the PRO. I'm on the fence waiting to see what it entails. Can't see much difference between our TRDOR-Max and the Pro. Not really crazy about the Pro's exhaust. It sounds horrid when the engine lugs. May be for sale shortly

My trailhunter came with the TRD PRO exhaust as a dealer add on. See if they can do the same.
