I know some drivers love the sound of it, but the "snorkel" on the Trailhunter is something I'd rather not have. We essentially never drive with the passenger side window open. Is there a way of blocking the noise, that won't compromise any warranty?

thanks very much!

I made a plastic plate that covers the snorkel outlet. There's a rubber piece on the bottom side of the intake box that opens up to redirect air flow suction. Actually has better throttle response now.

Is there any clarification on whether the various ways of blocking the snorkel noise affect any Toyota warranties?

thanks very much

I wouldn't do any of these DIY methods people are posting, especially the TH guy that just removed the air dam. The link I posted the option 2b is using official Toyota parts. I can't imagine why they'd give you grief about that, but there are no guarantees.

I just crammed a sponge high up in the intake like 10,000 taco owners do and it works perfectly. Last time I posted this a bunch of tards dragged me for it - no, pieces of sponge will not get in your engine, the sponge would take a decade to disintegrate if you never change it, and if it did there is an air filter to block anything bigger than a bacteria from getting in anyway. It costs $1, is invisible, works great, and is doing a better job of keeping dust, grit, and spray out than the nothing that was in there before. YMMV. I thought about it for 2 minutes then solved it in 5 minutes with materials I had on hand. Remove screws, pull screen, insert sponge, replace screws. Passenger side wife approves.

Creating a massive air restriction isn't on my Good Ideas list. But you do you.

At least you're creating it before the MAF.
