Spend a day with buddies on a dusty trail out west and you'll see the value of getting cleaner air into your intake.

Or remove the air filter and blow out the dust at the end of each day.
If its as he says, ive not seen inside the engine compartment, and is also open on the front of the air box then it would be no different than the PRO just with "also" some air coming in from the snorkel. If it was closed off in the engine compartment then it would be a lot more functional. But still, wow dust is dust and goes over your windshields etc so not sure how much it would help even if not open in the engine compartment. It goes and get into anything so being roof height would it get less dust? I dont think so.

He definitely misunderstood what I was saying but I have to correct the record. The Trailhunter actually doesn't have an open inlet on the front. For some reason, I was confusing the TRD intake with the Trailhunter intake, which is indeed closed on the front.

So it certainly is actually a reasonable and functional high-mount inlet.

That sounds way to simple. You must buy or modify existing fender. Buy all duct work buy a new airbox or mod existing. The windshield must be cut out for the pillar mounts. Just not worth it for virtually zero gain.
If you have TRD Pro, your air box has the fender inlet to attach to the snorkel already, plus you already have the parts for the front grille air scoop to be open and can choose to plug it or leave it when installing snorkel.

Non-pro would need Pro/TH intake + MAF rescaling, or Banks or SXTH intake. Supposedly Banks/SXTH are confirmed as aftermarket airboxes where the fender port actually inserts into the fender hose for the snorkel, also no MAF rescale needed for non-Pro/TH models with Banks/SXTH. Can use other intakes that have a fender port but unconfirmed if they actually slip into the fender hose.

No windshield cutting needed as the bracket that holds it to the A-pillar is magnetic and has molding tape under it that sticks to a piece of PPF that goes on the A-pillar. You just need to lift up the side windshield molding, install clear bra, then stick on bracket and attach snorkel duct to it.

You are correct that you need to buy or modify fender to accept snorkel ducts, and also correct you need to buy the snorkel parts.

It is actually a fairly simple modification. Install is a little time consuming but not complex. The most complex would be for a non-Pro owner to get the Pro airbox and having to get MAF rescaled since it is technically a tune, but we have options for remote stuff now with Cobb AP and CAMTuning or OTT which makes it significantly easier.

The snorkel is good fun. Sounds cool, looks cool, etc., highly recommend

It's OK to get lost in a TH so you need to be ready for anything but Pros don't get lost.
