Looking to purchase a 2025 4Runner TRD Pro (put a deposit down) and wanted to see people's opinions on the stock Toyo Tires. How do they compare to the highly rated BF KO3s & the Falcon Wildpeak AT4s? I'm mainly curious in how they compare regarding pavement road noise, but other things like snow, off-road, etc. comparisons are welcomed as well. Much appreciated!

They are actually Toyo open country AT3 WA. The only things I could find when I looked were reviews on European sites. And you tube review of a Range Rover with them going through some serious mud and rocks hills just fine

I ran the stock AT3’s on TH for about 5k miles with no issues. They were quiet and handled sand, small/medium rock gardens and steps fine - though I was pretty concerned about punctures in the rocks. They were excellent in rain and surprisingly good in light snow which is pretty rare here in TX. I switched to 285/75/17 AT3’s because I wanted more rubber and contact when airing down. I’ve never run the AT4’s so I can’t speak to their capabilities. I’ve run BFG KO2’s, KO3’s and MT’s on other vehicles and they are excellent off road. The KO2’s and MT’s were not great in rain, but you learned how to deal with them. The KO3 is superior to the AT3 off road IMO. The downside being it’s hard to find load ranges other than E. That was one of the reasons I stayed with AT3’s when I went to a larger tire. I could get it in load range C, I was confident it could handle the off road conditions I would use them in, and they were excellent on road. The majority of my use is on road so I tried to be realistic and factor that in to the selection - not that I don’t look at a set of 35” R/T Pro’s and think “I Want That”.

I have a Pro and the AT3s have been great for driving (quiet, good handling) and some off-roading that I've done. I did get one puncture (self-tapping screw) in a sidewall which was a bummer. I think it was more dumb (un)luck than anything. The tire guy said a load range E still would have gotten that flat although I previously ran load range E BFGs on an old 4Runner and never had a flat.

Note that the factory AT3s are both SL rated (weak sidewalls, less tread) and are also only about 1/2 the tread of purchased SL AT3s (manufacturers including Toyota sell stock vehicles with less tread to lower the weight for MPG). I expect to get about 30,000 miles from the stock tires. I'm going with the E rated AT3s in the stock size when they wear out because I want a tougher tire for offroading and less chance of road flats. The Toyo's are a lot lighter than comparable BFG or Falkens. Note that BFG is supposedly coming out with a load range D KO3 in stock size soon. They are likely similar to the AT3s in load E based on what I've seen. I may go with the KO3s when I get tires again in a few years but I couldn't wait this time. I've been pretty happy with the AT3s but I do have some concern over how long they last vs the KO3s.....time will tell but so far so good.

KO3 already has a 265/70 r18 in load D.

I put 7800 miles on my AT3s, just put KO3s on last Saturday. The AT3s, SL, were actually a pretty great tire if you don't plan on doing a lot of crazy off-roading. They were fantastic in the rain, pretty quiet, I just worried about punctures and longevity with the SL rating. Sadly, I had to go up to E load in the KO3s, so added 21 pounds per tire, but I have a lot more confidence when I go off-road. I'll see how they do in the rain. If they don't do well I am probably going to swap to the AT4Ws.
