The ARB website shows tie down straps (set of two) with squared off end pieces. There is also the outside springloaded eyelet attachment (sold in two), and then there are the interior eylets (sold in four pack). Any ideas of what a optimum amount of hardware is to secure assorted items for various occasions? Any pictures of these items at work or rest on any of your racks in the wild?

Okay, since I posted this, I learned from a fellow member that the new 3/4 ARB rack is compatible with ARB's base rack dovetail system and the T-slot system used by Thule and many other brands. I called ARB, and they confirmed that this roof rack is made exclusively for Toyota and will accommodate their base rack dovetail accessories and the T-slot systems of their competitors. How cool is that?

I use these mounting base plates:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTB9SSBX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I had the same issue with the mounting pins being a bit too far apart and I therefore had to 'float' the base plate a bit higher than the rails so I could get the ideal position. If I didn't 'float' the base plate, the mounting pins bolts just 'collided' with the rails so a flat mount option wasn't going to work.

This worked out great and has held up very well over hundreds of rough miles off road.

It's also worth noting I had to purchase the missing cross bar (there is another thread about this) for it all to work.

No noticeable noise. The mpg takes a decent hit though especially if driving across the windy plains.
