Anyone looking to buy the hybrid and plans to use the 2400 watt inverter plug. It will not run a 1000 watt load for more than 15-30min without overheating and shutting down (the samething also happened in the landcruiser.) At least not in the summer.

Also because the hybrid doesn't have an alternator unless you get the power switch option. The 12v dc to dc to keep the battery charged in the 4runner, doesn't have a very high output, to use a dc to dc charger to charge a power station. Example I have a victron 50amp dc to dc charger in my camper to keep the battery bank charged. When I looked at it after an hour of driving it had dropped down to 9amps from the 4runner. Just some fyi that I haven't seen anyone talk about.

I charged my Ecoflow delta pro for over an hour at 1700+ watts and it didn't shut down or overheat.

2min charging at 1500 watts on a camping trip right now. It did this same thing in the landcruiser also. It is 100 degrees out. We recharge it everyday, so I usually charge it at 1000w till it turns off and switch it to 300 watts to finish it off.

Must be the 100 degrees out, I'll try mine again today but it will only be 80.

Is there a way to turn this on without turning on the engine?

Mine is coming with the aux switches so hopefully this isnt an issue. Although I probably wont use it ofen as my GX460 is my dedicated offroad/camping/fishing rig and I have a Pecron alternator charger installed.

Just charged mine up but was only @87% so took a little over 20 minutes but didn't shut off. It's only 79 out so it must be the heat.

the 2400 watt is pure but the 400 watt base is not. Not my picture but it is the 2400 inverter/converter.

Hmm...when I called Toyota customer service a while ago and posed the question to them I was told that the inverter put out a square wave.
When you say "but the 400W base is not" I don't understand. Either the inverter is producing a sign wave from 1 watt to full load or it isn't.

Non hybrid has a 400 watt. It is not a pure sine wave

I understand now. I'm talking about the inverter that is in the hybrid models.
I'd love someone that has a hybrid and a O-Scope to give me a second opinion.

I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to make this measurement. It relieves my mind a lot to know that the inverter is producing clean power. How do you like that instrument compared with others? I'd love to get a O-scope but for my occasional needs I can't justify the cost.
