How long will the PPF last? Is it warrantied. Do you know the thickness?
Sorry for so many questions, looking to do the same on a 2025 TRD ORP in underground. Your build looks awesome!
Thanks!

STEKs film is hydrophobic, self healing, and comes with a ten year warranty against yellowing/bubbling/cracking/and pretty much everything except negligence or impact damage. I’ve never owned a vehicle long enough to see it through to ten years but even after 5 years, my last truck still looked amazing. Not to mention, if you apply it immediately after purchase, when you remove it ten years later you’ll have fresh factory paint underneath.

If I washed it, I might consider special products to keep the wrap looking pristine but it’s hasn’t been washed since I got the wrap done last year soooo šŸ˜…

Just don’t use any cheap soaps and definitely don’t take it to a drive through car wash unless it’s touchless. Otherwise, you should be fine and it will look good for as long as the wrap does its job.

Opted to go with a full PPF since I knew Toyotas paint isn’t what it use to be. The truck is wrapped in full STEK DYNOmatte satin clear PPF wrap with the Underground color portion wrapped in satin clear and the black trim in gloss clear.

Really stoked with how it turned out, the lines of the truck pop under the satin clear. I can’t wait to move on to the roof rack and lights next.

Satin makes the Underground color look much better IMO. That's a badass looking ride even without the roof rails or a rack on it, bud. I'd leave them off unless you really need them. Gives it a more sporty look.

That looks cool too though. I like the yellow/amber on the ends that tie into the fog lights.

What are those strip looking things on the right and left edges of the windshield?

Did you get yours ceramic coated also?

Have you really not washed it since last year?
It's my understanding that bird droppings, big splatter, tree sap & general grime should be cleaned off as soon as possible or the acids from it will etch & discolor the PPF or degrade the ceramic coating.

The strips down the sides of the windshield are wire hiders from Baja Designs. The light bar is a dual control so the amber and white lights operate on separate circuits. I also have work lights on both sides of the truck and rear backup lights so the wire hiders help hide the harnesses from all the different lights

I didn’t get it ceramic coated as I feel like it’s kinda gimmicky. I’ve done it on a few black vehicles with both ppf and just paint and the ceramic coating needs just as much upkeep as the regular clear coat on a vehicle would (imo).

The ppf has always held up the same regardless of the coating being applied so I’d rather not spend the extra 1-2K for a coating that’s just going to get scratched to hell. At the end of the day this is a trail truck for me and the ppf will keep the paint looking fresh for as long as I leave it on. When I go to sell it, I’ll remove the ppf and it’ll look brand new. Cost of playing the game I guess.

Thanks for sharing & answering my questions.

When you decide to contact wash it, could you let us all know here how your PPF is holding up after not being washed & dirtied for the months that it has been?
I'm just super curious to know if your STEK PPF has etching, staining or other blemishes. You can also DM me if you prefer.
