Hello,

I am a newbie when it comes to this world. I’ve never modified suspension components on any car I’ve owned before.

I have an ORP gas, and I am looking to lift the car to add larger tires on my car.
I want to add some lift but also use the bilsteins that come stock on my car

After doing some research, doesn’t it seem like a spring lift is more ideal than a collar lift kit? I don’t want the vehicle leveled out.

Anybody think one would last longer than the other long term?

thank you for reading and for any input.

Don't know about installing a lift, I just leveled my vehicle with collar on front springs. I will be putting on 34 inch tall tires and do not expect any problems after reading numerous posts on this site.

I have an orp which utilizes 18 in wheels and factory tires which are close to 33 inch diameter.

I did not like the stink bug look from the factory. Also seemed very vulnerable for underbody impact in the front.
The bilsteins that came have a lot of controversy from people on this forum but I found them to be very good once you got rid of those coil springs.

The coil springs that come on this 4Runner are very bouncy. Once I changed coil springs to the all dogs spacer eraser, it took that away. Best Improvement that I have made so far.

If you go with a full set of coil springs you will retain a factory rake and get a solid 2-in lift while utilizing your factory upper control arms.
If you go any higher you will have to change those out or you won't be able to align properly.

So long story short I went with the front coils and a 3/4 inch Apache polyurethane spacer for the rear and leveled it out perfectly and retained maximum articulation.
Hope this helps

Below please find an excellent graphic explaining the question in detail and why preload spacers far superior to a top hat spacer. The main reason I've gone with a pre load spacer on two vehicles now. The reason so many go with the top hat is the much less expensive install whereas the pre load requires use of a spring compressor. Hope this helps, it clarified things for me:

That’s fantastic. Just curious what are your thoughts on the Alldogs springs? Are you aware of any downsides or unnecessary strain the suspension components might sustain long term as opposed to a wescott kit?

Looks sweet! Any particular reason you didn’t add them in the front? You didn’t want the rake I assume? Also, are you aware of any downsides/long term damage possible with using the alldogs front and rear springs with the Toyota factory installed bilsteins?
