S Flow not working as designed - how to disable?

S Flow is supposed to detect an empty second row, and turn off air conditioning to that row and the back. This is supposed to route more air to the front row.

However on my Limited, it really just blocks all air and practically turns off cooling. After I press the stupid S Flow button glowing green, air conditioning starts working as expected.

How do you disable the faulty S Flow process?

Get it fixed under warranty? I have not seen this problem. Normally I have the back turned off (light on, which is a bit counterintuitive) but have had it automatically detected or manually enabled and it works as expected. There is more airflow in the front with the back is disabled but works fine both ways. I do wish there was a dedicated vent system in the back though.

Or just get a SR5 so you dont have to worry about even having the option

Yea, I wondered if mine was faulty. Sounds like it is. My kick sensor doesn’t work either.

The kick sensor seems a bit fiddly, although I think more just getting used to it. Finde the correct location--as I recall it is under the letter "e" in 4Runner. Using that as a guide makes it much more reliable! I think it helps too if you kick a little deep under the vehicle, although I really have not used it enough to know for sure. Once one gets used to the technique it really can be a handy feature.
