yeah i should have went with the static boards. the front mud guard doesnt sit low enough to prevent slush/snow build up on rear passenger door kick out.

plus the auto boards are not at the right height to be NOT awkward to get in/out of the 4R. it doesnt sit as high as the tundra and its really noticeable how awkward it is vs the 4R

now i am looking for replacement mud guards that sit about 1-2 in lower
Not sure there's a good option...The factory (static) running boards on the 4Runner are at exactly the wrong height for people 5'7" to 5"11". That's the range in this family, and none of us like the height. I can step over them and directly into the seat, but have to drag my butt to get out the same way because I'm stepping out over them. I need to pull it off and see if that's any better.

My wife is also throwing some hard shade at the passenger grab handle (needs it if she wants to bypass the awkward height running board). And she's not wrong. It's really awful.

yeah the grab handle is completely wrong in execution. the molded handle just doesnt work if you try to grab it with the odd hand vs the traditional grab handle where it work regardless of the hand you use.

but i imagine its to save pennies on the mass production. molded saves money in materials long term wise vs the traditional handle requiring a separate piece vs a 1 piece molded "A" pillar cover.

I'm sure you're right. They saved $1.83 or something.

I know that there's already an aftermarket driver's side handle, but it matches the passenger side. Given the massive aftermarket support the 4Runner always has, and pretty much everyone agreeing that the factory setup sucks...I'm hoping that we'll get actual handles in the next year or two.

Sorry, anyone that was interested, I trashed my oem run in boards off road stupidity! 4R did great otherwise! ‘Restless Off Road Fabrication’ rock sliders now in place… and much needed. 😱

I have a set for sale; not sure if it’s the style you’re looking for. I’m in St. George. Not close bit JIC you travel down this way.

Hi Andy, I am looking for the OEM Toyota boards. If those are the ones, I can figure out a way to stop by.

Awesome. Thanks @jtariq and @time2playandy. I could be in Washington/St George area Friday at whatever time works for you. Just send me a time and location and I’ll be there.
I can make any time work. Just let me know if you’re shooting for morning or afternoon!

Hello to the group, long-time lurker, 1st time posting...
Anyone in the SoCal area interested in OEM Running Boards for the '25+ 4Runner, I've got a pair I took off in favor of some CaliRased Sliders. These ones were on the truck for less than 2k miles & look new.
I will also have the OEM Tires & Wheels available in a few weeks as I am getting KO3's and RRW wheels, if anyone is interested in these. There's about 4,100 miles on these tires.
