The thing about rock sliders is coming back from a camping trip with tent, full tank and not even all the things I might bring as far as stove ,extra water as it was not needed I am like 225lb from GVWR. Adding 50+ lbs for a better step doesn't seem logical when its not something I will likely need. I am still on stock wheels, tires suspension so I will likely be adding more weight there too.

I went with RCI 20 degree rock sliders with the top tread plate

Do you find the 20 degree difficult to step up on? I was reading that if you needed to still be able to step up on them to reach the roof rack etc (I would because I'm short) that you should go with the 5 degree and not the 20. Thoughts? Thanks!

The other good thing about sliders is less door dings from someone who parks too close and opens their door to far .

surprisingly this doesnt work as well as you think.

most front doors are curved (top/bottom) so the middle will hit before the bottom will hit the sliders. rear doors mostly have a wheel well cutout so that is even worse for the slider to come into play.

your best bet is just to park out in the boonies and hope someone doesnt decide to come park next to you :ROFLMAO:

I’m on the shorter side too 5’6 and a smaller foot. I don’t really find it hard to step up and reach, I also don’t carry on top that often. I store and sleep inside when I’m doing those trips. I have the top plate option for a little extra grip so maybe that helps the cause when I need it.
