Rough Country Power Running Boards released

My power running boards came with the truck. I bought it in transit so didn't have much choice because of 4runner availability at the time.
The ergonomics are not good. Stepping on them to climb in gets your shoulder or midsection even with the roof. Way too high.
From there you have to fold yourself ass first into the cabin trying not to land on the steering wheel.
Getting out you pretty much go sideways then step on the board and turn 90 degrees.
Designed for a semi truck IMO.

They did a good job on the rubber area, great non slip stuff on it.

Never had this issue with other trucks.
I would strongly suggest trying them out at a dealer before spending the money and time.
The good news is they worked flawlessly through a pretty crappy and cold winter.

This is why I am watching this thread and continue to search for options. I know there was some confusion on my earlier posts and I could have worded things better.

I have not seen the OEM power running boards that are available for the Limited and Platinum trims. Those aren't an option outside of those trims. While the Rough Country power running boards are shown in pictures, it appears to be a modified ORP. Unless I'm missing something, I'd like to see some general measurements so things can be compared apples to apples.

Bottom line (potential pun intended): What is the distance between the door sill and the power step (with both the OEM and RC) in the down position? That measurement is a constant, so any mods / trim differences can be calculated determine functionality and use case scenarios.

I'd like to make things a little easier for my parents when they are with me, but not being able to calculate the step height (due to lack of info) isn't selling me as I have seen a number of posts that are negative of the OEMs.

I know options are still extremely limited for the 6th gen 4R.... In general, does anyone make power running boards that are height adjustable? (Like the back power hatch - set a stop point)?

Had the rough country power running boards installed today. Works great. Installer said installation was not easy. Other applications would access the OBDII port for activation… unfortunately for our application it uses four door mounted magnet sensors to deploy and retract the boards. The last thing of note, the gap between the boards and the body is greater for the rear when compared with the front. Can probably fix this with shims at some point in the future but for now this will do. Also elected to mount some rock lights in place of the lights that come with the boards. They fit perfectly within the OEM brackets and are way brighter than the lights RC provides.
