My free year is up and my wife wants to extend the REMOTE Connect subscription only, not the Drive Connect, but can't figure out how to do that through the app. Any help resubscribing?

Looks like the Music Lovers option ($15/mo.) includes remote connection without drive connect but can't figure out how to signup.

"
  • What is included in the Music Lover Plan?
The Music Lover Plan includes Integrated Streaming and Remote Connect. The Integrated Streaming product enables you to browse and play your Apple Music™ and Amazon Music™ content using your vehicle’s connection and offers a multimedia experience specifically optimized for driving. Remote Connect is included at no additional cost with this subscription. With Remote Connect, control your vehicle from the palm of your hand. Start the engine, lock the doors, and even monitor guest drivers from the Toyota app. Feature availability will be dependent on your model.

i had to wait until the 1yr trial was past before i could sign up for drive connect on the 23 tundra. i have 3 yrs already from the factory on the 25 4R since i had that option added at the port (essentially i paid for 2 additional yrs upfront)

dont need the music since i use spotify

I don't need music either but I wonder if you get the Music Lover solely to get the Remote Connect features and not have the annoying Drive Connect ones. I'd love to stop having school zone reminders flash on my screen.

I spent the last 3-4 weeks wondering why my "connected experience" screen was happening every time I started the vehicle. VERY ANNOYING. It was not connecting to CarPlay.. I thought something was bad with an update. Needed to subscribe to one of these BS plans just to get remote start. The remote start used to cost $88 a year... Now, it's bundled at $192yr + tax.. Total BS if you don't need music or drive connect.

Side note, I believe you MUST use the app to "manage your subscription" to add one of the three optional service plans.. Bunch of crap, but the remote start is a great feature where you can set the temperature and heated / cooled seats.

I called Toyota. No movement on splitting. I’m going to wait to see if they come back to me with a better deal.

Try this. It worked when I had my Ford. Disconnect the auto update or auto connect (whatever they call it) in your vehicle. If it can't connect to Toyota it may not realize the subscription has passed and won't disconnect your trail features. I was able to get 2 years of extra nav usage by disconnecting the auto update. It didn't know it expired if it can't communicate. But that may only work if your still using your free trial. Worth a shot.

toyota has its on LTE connection, so you really cant get around this. its part of the SoS system since the 5th gen

also toyota has a failsafe, if service based features dont connect to the mothership in a timely manner, it will put itself into lock mode until it can verify account status again.

this applies to such things are the app on your phone, digital key, SoS service, and other things.

its explained in the manual what gets neutered when the vehicle cant connect to verify things.
