Should I expect to see my car towards the end of the range?

Depends on your port, how fast customs is, where the car is going from the port (train or truck) and how many PIO you got. That date will change multiple times (when it gets to port, when its thru customs, when its loaded) and the window usually shrinks the closer it gets.

Completely random. Expect it after the date, be excited when it comes before that.

the time arrival is based mostly on standard times. as long as there is no major hiccups (QA hold, waiting for PIO parts, etc).

the date range of arrival is really dependent on the last mile carrier. they sometimes wait for a dealer to get multiple vehicles inbound before they waste a transport to a dealer. so that window you see is approximate of a fully loaded transport.

if you vehicle arrives first, it could take up to 3 weeks for that transport to get a full load, or in the case of a small volume dealer, they may wait until another dealer fills in the gaps.

most carriers are about 2-3 days legal transport time out from a dealer depending on where the railhead is located at.

for my dealer in ND, the railhead is in daytons bluff, mn.

that is were the rail transport ends and it loaded to a truck transport. this was the same for our 23 tundra, it went from texas all the way to daytons bluff. the 4R went from portland via rail to daytons bluff.

once my tranport was full it only took 1 day of travel to reach my dealer.

for the 23 tundra, it shipped out on the 20-feb-23 and arrived at the dealer 21-feb-23 and we drove off the lot 22-feb-23.

on my 4R it shipped 11-oct-25 arrived 12-oct-25 and i drove off 13-oct-25. i have pics of the day they dropped it off the transport on the 12-oct-25.

still had all the wraps on it.

These are shipped from Japan, landing on the west coast. Trains are slow, so expect the late end of the window. My estimates were 12/19-1/3. It got delivered to the dealer on 12/31.

it arrives when it arrives. no one has any direct control or crystal ball until that truck pulls in and offloads the vehicles. it's all just guesstimates, which often change.

We put in an allocation 1st week of January,it left Japan the 9th and it arrived on Cape Cod the first week of March.
If you want call your salesperson they are the ones who can find out where it's at.

One of the delays that can also happen is the Panama Canal (for east coast/texas). When I tracked mine, it sat for days waiting to get in the canal. Once its thru, the boat will actually have an ETA to first port (usually JAX first, then NYC). Not sure if the Galveston ones have a second destination or if they are the second stop.

just remember, some 4R GST vehicles go thru portland and not always texas port. (if i remember correctly, i havent seen any 6th gen go thru the texas port, only thru portland, someone correct me if i am wrong please)

SET will always use jax port and northeast (east of the mississippi) will use newark for the port and the rest of the toyota usa regions will use portland outside of california (cali bound usually go thru long beach)
