PPF - TRD Pro Gloss or Satin - Price

Hi Everyone,

I have not been happy with the paint on the TRD Pro. I figure I will have this vehicle for many years and I don't want to be worrying about the paint on a daily basis. I am going to bit the bullet and get TRD wrapped. I was quoted $7K cdn (plus tax). I am looking for thoughts on the price as well as what people think about the satin finish. I am leaning towards that look? I know some responses will be "it your truck" but just looking for opinions.

Satin PPF looks awesome. For $2-$3000 I would do it but I have been quoted $8500 US in So Cal. Just too many $ IMO
I did my carbon fiber hood in matte PPF and my roof is done as well prior to the roof rack being installed

I feel like gloss vs matte depends on your vehicle color as well as the look you’re going for. Mine is Mudbath and that really called for gloss in my opinion.

That price sounds about right although regional pricing differences make it hard to compare.

I paid about that for a “full” PPF - minus the roof & the rear end. It is garage kept so no daily sunlight on the roof. And the rear looks dirty anytime you drive on wet/damp roads so why bother?!

Full or partial wrap?

The price without the top is about 6k. I want to go the full wrap as this paint is brutal and any scratch or swirl bothers me. I feel mud bath would look good either way.

I would choose a high-gloss PPF because I'm looking for more depth and a true "wet look" finish. If I had a black 4Runner, I would definitely go with this option. I really like how the black color complements the 4Runner's shape and body lines, so I think a high-gloss PPF would enhance that effect even further by adding more richness, shine, and depth to the paint.

I'm not a participant of wraps or anything of that nature.

But I will add to your question about Matt finish.
You can have a good auto shop pretty much spray your entire 4Runner with a matt clear finish. The 4Runner does not have that many badges. Cost is a fraction of the cost of a wrap, but it is permanent.
I've seen a few Beamers and Tacomas that had been sprayed

I know there are many color options and finishes with wrap but I don't seem to get the attraction for a wrap when you could have your car sprayed. Especially if you're just going for a clear Matt finish.
Anyway just my thoughts.
