Power Liftgate Question

Hello, first post here. Picked up my 2025 ORP Hybrid in Everest about a week ago and love it so far. I also own a 2019 Subaru Outback, and a fairly well known issue with those is that the power lift gate will kill the battery if left open while the car is off. Lots of people keep a carabiner in the car to "trick" the power liftgate into de-energizing when parked for a long time with the trunk open, like for camping or tailgating.

My question is do these 6th gen 4runners with the power liftgate have the same issues?

Yes, you also need to trick the tailgate into thinking it's closed or else the lights will stay on. Some people say their lights turn off after 20 minutes, but that's not what happens here sadly.

is this the same for the peasant powered tailgate like on the Sr5 or TRD OR?
