Yeah, I understand. My remote worked all of about 15 seconds. I did have the light installed and can’t get to the clutch or hard wire the remote without removing the grille entirely. I don’t know yet if it’s a short or if it’s the remote of the Warn winch. They are apparently notorious for going bad. We will get it squared away though. There’s a way to relocate the control box under the hood or mount in front of the radiator, so it looks like that will be my next mod. 🙄

Do yourself a favor and order a pack of those plastic button fasteners. I’ve already lost two of those just trying to figure out how I am going to make all of this work.
haha. Already lost one myself. Good luck with your troubleshooting and fix. Let me know what you do.

Great job, looks awesome. I love the lighting choices, seen your YT a few times. Hopefully you changed the OEM horn while you had it all opened. Many articles on the premium horn install if needed. Be safe!

Cut off the hideous muffler dong. Took about 30 mins to cut it the way I wanted it and sand/buff it smooth. Cut off about 14". Can't see it anymore and it cleans up the back very nicely.

popadob88,
Some of us on the forum have noticed some vibrations at 70+ mph with the factory Toyo tires.
https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/can’t-fix-trd-pro-steering-wheel-vibration.5336/
Just wondering if you have experienced any vibration or shaking at highway speed now that you are running the 295/70R18 Nitto Recon Grapplers?
I are thinking it maybe the cheaper TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T III GA
tires they are installing at the factory that are not balancing or balanced correctly.

As of 1000 miles on them, I have zero vibrations on the Recons. The stock AT3s in SL load shouldn't be vibrating either. Nitto/Toyo are known to balance very well with minimal weights, hence why I only run Toyos and Nittos on my trucks.

I used to love BFG KO2s but they recently became impossible to balance, so I switched to the Toyo RT Trails and now the Recons and have had zero issues.

The stock AT3s may not have been mounted properly. Unfortunately, many tire installers have no idea that tire manufacturers add a yellow/red/or any other color dot on the tire to signify where that dot should be mounted on the wheel. Those dots do in fact need to align with the valve stem. This helps minimize needed weights for balancing, etc, and leads to minimal vibrations, if any. It's sad many tire installers don't know this.

First thing I'd do is see if you have those dots on your stock AT3s and see where they're mounted in conjunction with the valve stem. If they're aligned, maybe you just need to rebalance a bit. If they're not, try that first. The stock AT3 in SL load are super light (43 lbs) so balancing shouldn't be a major issue.

Good luck!

Your truck looks great. I would ask you how much all those mods cost but that would be rude of me.

I think color matching those black fender flares would be la touché finale.

But if not, still an awesome truck. congrats.

Thank you. I'm in a unique situation so I honestly don't know how much the bill actually is on the mods, but I would estimate around $11K with parts and labor included.

I've been going back n forth on color matching, but I am sticking with the black fenders. I actually like the contrast they provide and give off a wider stance (optical illusion). It's why the designers did it this way... ;)

Understood.

It seems to me those mods would add up to much more than $11k but I could be wrong.

I saw a post of a mudbath colored 4Runner that recently had the flares color matched. I thought it looked great, hence the question I posed to you.

Anyways, congrats on the nice truck and unique situation you are in.

So, the day has finally arrived. I was one of the first, if not the first to pre-order the Westcott Designs collar lift kit months ago and they finally arrived. So for those of you who ordered this kit for the Pros, they should be shipping out to you soon.

Here was the issue. When WD was R&Ding these for the Pros and Trailhunters they realized the bolts on the stock top hats weren't long enough once you put the collar on, so they went back to the drawing board. Not sure why Toyota did that with the 4Runners when the Tacomas clearly didn't have the same issue. Nonetheless, WD designed and built these 1" top hats out of billet to get these collar lifts to work.

The top hats arrived today. The rest of the lift kit comes on Tuesday. Here's a couple pics of the top hats. They seem to be extremely overbuilt and solid. Beautiful design and anodizing, per the usual from Westcott Designs.
