Hello, anyone using the obd2 port to power the dashcam so i can have a parking mode, im kinda skeptical if it gonna cause a problem with my 6th gen, I'd been using it on my 2014 rav4 without any problems, 6th gen got a lot of tech and sensors that im concerned being disturbed by the obd2 cable, oh im using the thinkware cables

I've been running an ODB power cable on my trd pro for about 2 months and haven't encountered any issues. This set up has been working perfectly my newer mild hybrid Audi & Mercedes and older Toyotas

only issue i see with using the odb port is that when you take it into service, they can pull power from your camera and not remember to plug it back in.

i have my dashcam power up with no light and sound, so if i was using the odb port, i would never know it wasnt powered.

i am lazy so i use the vehicle adapter to power mine, but it has a red light on the adapter (wife hates the exposed wires and it dangles from the dashcam straight down to the adapter)

but hey i never have to worry about it not being plugged in
