For someone who may know...Is the mid-mounted device enough, why have an additional muffler behind the axle at all?

The only functional effect that a resonator or muffler has on an exhaust system is to change the sound profile, control emissions, or in a rare case modulate backpressure. We find that most OE exhaust system designs are all about appealing to the largest buyer audience possible.

Makes sense for Toyota, but we cater to a different crowd .

I just ordered the AWE exhaust. I had to return the magnaflow exhaust as the muffler wasn’t expanded enough to fit over the tailpipe. This was a quality control issue and they are back ordered for a while. Hope AWE doesn’t have a similar problem. Plus, I like it’s a 3 inch exhaust.

When I get it I will take pics and video of sound clips. Here is the magnaflow issue I had before I sent it back, as you can see the muffler looks damaged but that’s how I received it. The AWE exhaust just shipped today which is nice cause I actually ordered it today so same day shipping means in stock product.

We did not dyno this system at this time. The trucks always present a bit of a challenge to get accurate dyno figures. We strive to only report accurate numbers to the community.

Impressed with the sound. Even more impressed with the price. AWE can be borderline too expensive depending on the platform, especially when you start adding remote control flaps but this system is pretty competitively priced for the Toyota crowd. Well done, AWE. May be picking one of these up in the future.
