Interesting, this is probably my 15 or 16th vehicle, and never noticed a difference in the rockers/sideskirts looking so bad. Even my old colorado and canyon didn't have this. Maybe Chevy/GMC doesn't care as much about the longevity. As long as it's intentional I'm satisfied.
This is what Toyota does...a simple search will tell you this. Your salesman would have told you this if you noticed it at the dealership. NO American car companies do not do this...lol there is no comparing a 4runner/Tacoma to a Colorado or Canyon..
My Ram 1500 had this texture/ orange peel as well. Perhaps GM doesn't put it on their trucks.
