Lift gate light. How long does yours stay on? Is mine broken?

New LIMITED in Aug and just now noticing this light at night staying on long after all other lights off. No idea how long it stays on but it always off the next morning and starts just fine. No I’m 77 and just not interested in standing there. My 2023 doesn’t do this (nor have power hatch).
Ideas?

It will go off after 5 or 10 minutes. I leave mine open all the time and it just turns off automatically. No drain to your battery those little LED lights don't do much.

There is also settings on your infotainment screen I believe it's under personal settings and you can change and customize how long you want your lights to stay on. Pretty easy.

My trailhunter has a switch for this light left of the steering wheel. It's a three way switch, on - auto - off, like a dome light switch. If yours has the same switch, did you bump it into the "on" setting by chance?

This happened to me, when I first got mine. @shine is spot on. There is a toggle switch the left of the steering wheel where all of the other switches/buttons are. You can set it to be on, off or just go on when you unlock/lock and then auto off.
