Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if there’s a way to keep the infotainment system (screen/audio) powered on after shutting the engine off.

Right now, as soon as I turn the engine off, the screen goes dark unless the vehicle is in ACC or ignition is left on. Ideally, I’d like the system to stay on for a few minutes (or until a door is opened), similar to how some other vehicles behave.

It's described in the owners manual, look for ACC customization

I just searched the manual for ACC customization. Is my understanding correct that ACC customization toggled OFF results in the electronics being usable after turning off the vehicle?

Yes that's what it says.

■ When ACC customization is in off

With the power switch turned off, the multimedia system can still be used for a certain time until the battery saving function starts operating.

Right, so if you toggle it off, then you can use multimedia after powering off? ACC customization is such a strange name for this. And the fact that turning it OFF results in the power being ON, lol

From Claude:

The “ACC customization” toggle in modern Toyota infotainment systems controls the pre-startup function and accessory power behavior. Here’s what it does:
Main Function
When set to OFF, it enables a pre-startup function that detects when you enter the vehicle and energizes the audio head unit so the multimedia system can be quickly used . The confusing part is that turning the setting OFF actually enables the feature.
What It Controls
When ACC Customize is ON (factory default):
∙ Accessories turn off immediately when the engine is shut off
∙ Multimedia system boots up only when you start the car
∙ This setting reduces battery drain during shipping and storage
When ACC Customize is OFF:
∙ Accessories stay on after turning off the engine until you open the driver’s door
∙ The multimedia system powers up when you enter the vehicle
∙ Radio/infotainment can continue playing after you park
Where to Find It
Navigate to: Settings → Vehicle Customization → Utility → ACC Customize
Note that some users have reported experiencing CarPlay connection issues when toggling this setting to OFF , so you may want to monitor your system if you change it.

Quick reply, turn ACC customize off does keep your infotainment on for a curtain period of time until you open your door.

thanks everyone for sharing your experience!
