Is this part of the rear fender replaceable? As in, is it something I can do myself?

I went and scraped the rear passenger side fender and am wondering if it's a part I can just order and replace myself vs using a body shop.

Ouch! That sucks, buddy...I did the same thing a few cars back, backing into my garage of all things!

Yes, the fender flairs are easy to replace. A few screws and body clips are all there is. You may ever be able to buy the parts pre-painted, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure others who know better will chime in shortly.

if you want to "upgrade" rough country has some that come painted body color. Not sure if the Toyota ones come done or not. But if your going to get damage thats the best spot to do it.

the big issue is getting it painted.

between the parts, painting and minor hardware, i personally wouldnt do it myself. i mean i only have a $100 deductible across the board so its just easier to do a insurance claim.

but i rarely do claims so it really doesnt affect my insurance long term wise if i keep my claims around 1 every 5-7 yrs

Yeah, my only issue with a claim is that it'll get reported to CarFax and I'd rather keep the vehicle record clean if I can. After all, it isn't like I was actually in an accident (I misjudged how much space I had navigating in a parking garage that was having construction done and just barely scraped against a concrete pillar)
I'd imagine with getting the part from Toyota it wouldn't come painted and then there's the extra expense of getting that done.
A route I might take is doing what @Mad Ghost suggested and "upgrading" to the Rough Country pre-painted aftermarket fenders. They're wider and more aggressive so I'll wait until I change the wheels and tires since burlier fenders with the Sport's street tires and the wheels' current offset would probably look ridiculous. Also, the whole set of four from Rough Country would cost less than just the single fender flare from Toyota.
In any case, it's something to ponder and possibly a good excuse to make the truck even beefier once I get the wheels and tires I want!

Appreciate your feedback!

I would never do an insurance claim for something that minor. They'll jack your rates up or cancel you.

Pretty simple R & R. Here is a video with install on Rough Country f/f.

If you want fancy shmansy,,,,here is an option from Rave Off Road: https://raveoffroad.com/products/paint-matched-fender-flares-for-2025-4runner?variant=40862761254947
Thanks for the video! Looks just about as difficult as I expected. Honestly love how the fenders were made to be removed. The benefits of having an off-road oriented truck! Looks like those flares on Rave are just the Rough Country ones they're selling as a third party.

that might be your insurance but ...

i have guaranteed renewal (since i have been with them since 1988, grandfathered with that exemption and since the vehicles are in my name also, the wife's gets the same deals)

any accident that is $750 or less is non chargeable (if i make up the difference and keep the charge to $750 or less it doesnt show up as an accident)

so meh for me, ymmv

so using the OP as an example, if i take it to a body shop and the parts and painting comes out to $1500, i only have to pay the amount down to $750 and my insurance will cover the rest.

Unrelated to whether its categorized as accident or not. Filing claims most often ends up as increased premiums. Too many will get you cancelled.

sadly that is the new MO for most insurance companies today. it wasnt like that in the old days and i am lucky that i have policy enforcements that have been grandfathered and i dont lose them.

guaranteed renewal and the $750 cap that forces it to be considered not an accident is a perk i cant give up.

heck my discounts for being a good steward of vehicles and multiple policies outside of the vehicles gives me roughly $477 discount on my 25 4R and $388 on the 23 tundra (for 500k/250k/100k w/ $100 deductible x 2 and $12 month 1 mil rider, the 25 4R jumped alot from the 14 4R, its now $590/6m. and the 23 tundra is $481/6m)

but man they kill me on the house insurance, its been going up every year between $100-$200 with a .5% deductible

2025 up $161
2024 up $211
2023 down $18
2022 up $123
2021 up $131
2020 up $245

before 2020 it was around $30 a year

its good and bad being from the old days i guess.

doesn't matter if considered an accident or not. Comprehensive coverage claims will result in increased premiums and too many can result in cancellation.

I'm gonna throw this one out in case it's relevant.

My wife scraped the hell out of the side view mirror on our Odyssey in a parking lot a few years ago, just before we traded it in. Somebody recommended to use a degreaser/polishing compound to see if it made a difference and it really did. Like a huge amount. It didn't fix the scratches, but it removed the paint and crud from inside the gouges of the plastic and made the scratches nearly invisible unless up close.

Might be worthwhile to see if you can at least make it liveable. Good luck!
