I just saw that option on a YouTube video. I need something that I can keep in there full time so I'm probably going to make a small platform similar to that one. I may have to get a luno mattress though because the mattress I have won't fit on the side with the armrest and the seats. Unfortunately it looks like they don't sell just one side to the luno mattress and I definitely don't need both sides
I keep my bambeds set up in the car full time. When I’m not camping I keep the luno mattress and sleeping bag underneath so I still have the full use of the seat and the cargo

I got my platform from wheelsfeels.com. It is an awesome set up with sliding drawers and a sleeping platform that can easily be removed and stored behind the seats when not in use. I will send pictures when I get a chance to take some.

I am 5’10 and I was able to sleep in the back with my 5 year old son. I had to sleep at an angle but I fit and was surprisingly comfortable. I will be getting a platform in the future, but it worked for my son and I for a couple of nights.

I jua

I just contacted them. My only concern is what it fit next to my refrigerator I still have to take some measurements since they told me pretty much how much room I have. Here's a picture of my back set up now I just have to figure out how to move things around. If I'm going to put a bed back there I want to be able to keep it back there full time.

I’ll post pics when I get it set up. You might have to turn your fridge sideways to give a bit more room, but maybe not.

i wish they would have kept the same layout for the rear seats and how they folded forward. the new way it kinda awkward, workable but you do lose some capacity in the 6th gen vs the 5th gen.

i would have loved it they could have made the loading floor flat across the whole length even keeping the floor flat with the HV battery hump.

but i understand instead of making the 2nd row 2 parts like the 5th gen they made the seat 1 whole piece to ease of process of getting into the 3rd row seats for those models that have them.

but on the flip side, it saves the oem money if you dont have 2 different seat configurations for the 4runner for those that dont have 3rd row.

in the 5th gen, those without the 3rd row had more cargo capacity since the way the 2nd row flip and folded the 2 seat sections vs those that had a 3rd row and the whole seat tumbled forward.

5th gen w/o 3rd row (2nd row seat folding layout)

if your just doing a quick camp at your height its actually better then the 5th gen (I owned 5th) with non hybrid. lay sideways and your head will be near the door jam, then just put a blanket or two to prop your head up and you've got a flat sleeping space. 5th had a bump, and also after folding the seats it was a bit short anyway. Best bet if you're sleeping in it on the regular is to just remove the one seat, it takes 15 mins and you'll have more room than anything. you still will have the double seat in the back.

The pictures I promised. I am short so I sleep without the extension folded down, but if you are taller you can run the front seats forward and have plenty of room to stretch out. The company is in Houston and are terrific to work with!

I was looking up sleeping options and Luno and bambeds have sleeping platform/bed combo. The video from Luno says we have 6'8" for sleeping with the front seats pushed all the way up. Their new mattresses have a suspension hammock type deal that helps keep your head level too. I was looking at hest mattress but this might be a good option because it gives us more usable space. Might look into a different platform since bambed is a little pricey

I watched the video and went on their website. Is there a option to have the platform just on one side I noticed you have your seat up on the other side but looks like a platform is behind it. how do you pull that off? Also when looking at their mattress it looks like it's one full piece not two separate pieces how are you using just one piece?

I dont think there’s an option just for one side. I have the other seat up cause I still have my baby car seat in there. But with bambeds platform you can still use the seats when you need too. Here’s a picture with the seat up

ah ok so the platform only goes as far as the cargo space?. For some reason I thought it went all the way to the front seats

My guess, again just a guess, is that Toyota thinks that a very, very small % of people sleep in their 4Runner, therefore it's not a major design consideration of theirs.
I've slept in the back of my previous 4runners (4th gen and 5th gen) when on long road trips and it was basically just me and the dog in the vehicle.

I can't imagine using the cargo area as a dedicated sleeping compartment if one is going camping or something, it fills up pretty quickly back there once you start loading gear in.

isnt that what a roof rack is for? Once I get my roof rack I can put a lot of things in containers up top and have more room in the cargo space.

Yup, only to the back row and some what level with the seat when they fold down. For what I need, they’re perfect
