During the first 5K mile break-in period, I used Amsoil upper cylinder lubricant fuel additive, and then the P.i. Performance Improver Gasoline Additive. I alternated between the two different fuel additives about every 1K, along with a couple oil (Amsoil Signature Series) changes — wanting to follow the Motor Oil Geek’s break in strategy.

After 5K break-in, I stopped the upper cylinder lubricant, but I’ll probably use the Amsoil P.i. Performance Improver Gasoline Additive every 5K interval until 45K (interval) where I’ll switch to BG for that single interval, and go back to Amsoil.

Gas Stations. I primarily use Costco gas stations, and Shell Nitro+ when Costco isn’t convenient/accessible. I don’t have a Chevron station near me.

I used to put Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant with every full tank or every other time partial fill. I then talked to a buddy(Parts Manager and Gear head who rebuilds his own engines for racing) and he suggested Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner every 10-15K depending how much you drive.

I try to use Top Tier type gas which has fuel additives to keep upper valves and fuel system components clean. Depending where you live it’s fairly easy to find (Conoco, Sinclair, Phillips 66, etc.) and it’s a better gas for your vehicle all around. There’s an App “Top Tier” like GasBuddy that maps out stations with top tier gas. I’ll used a bottle of Techron at the 15k intervals as I only put about 6-6500 miles annually.
I use Costco fuel it is top tier all so
