I had an appointment last Thursday for the tech to diagnose/run tests on a steering shaft issue (per Toyota corporate). Read about the TSB on Monday and called to add it to my appointment. No video or proof, but they could easily replicate it when they were testing for the steering issue. They replaced without question, and they luckily had the parts on hand. Was completed the next morning (had to drop off the truck overnight).Did you drop off your truck at the dealer and have them recreate the noise or you have it on video and show it to them? or just tell them you have it without the proof and they will replace it because of the TSB?
I said something along the lines of, “I backed out of a parking spot after a grocery run, and the entire parking lot stopped in their tracks and stared”, and “it sounded like a freight train screeching to a halt.”
