Hi Everyone, update to all that I tried the following molle with my ARB mounts and it’s a no go. I bet it will work with a bit more customization but I didn’t want to try anymore. I just wanted to post on here so for the rest of the Runners with stock roof rails here is a good option for all based on price $249 pair and the craftsmanship. I found these on Amazon. JOYTUTUS Rear Window Molle Panel... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHHBVYZS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
so you these work well with TH even if they said not for one? I have the 3/4 ARB rack that came with my 26TH. Do you happen to have photos?

TH has different side rails on the 3/4 ARB roof rack. The linked Amazon Molle panels are not compatible.

So either some other brand or roof mounting? Would you happen to know which mounting hardware I should get to mount rotopax on my ARB 3/4 rack?

I ordered an ARB mounting plate from ARB (I can't find the invoice for the live of me...)

And I ordered the mounting kit from Amazon :

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNLQCZZW

Works great.

Thanks a million that’s a step forward. If you can or whenever you can share the information on which one you bought. I appreciate it.

i am going to try fitting the westscott designs exterior molle panel to my TH. i used gemini / nano banana to spec out some custom L brackets and uploaded the design to sendcutsend.com. i made the L brackets in textured black .187" 50502 H32 aluminum. they should fit the standard ARB t-adapter. if it works out i'll go ahead and do the driver's side as well. look for a followup in a few weeks.

Ok I went on the ARB site. This is exactly what I got :

https://store.arbusa.com/base-rack-wide-bridge-plate-1780430/
So here are these, done, but i find that the gas pack locs are short (photo red can, just placed not tightened) for 3 gal rotopax, the base height is 2 inches i think it needs to be longer, (just ordered one link below) This one is good with 2 gallon Rotopax.
Although the base that is square is messing up the gas can see the photo of green can. (correction here, happens to be i didn't know how to close and lock the mount, i learned it by messing up my canister).

For the Maxtrax the rack and mounting it on ARB 3/4 rack 2026 4Runner Trailhunter. I NEED HELP.

My rack currently has four T-slot / T-track channels installed (image attached for reference). However, I can see a fifth position on the rack where an additional slot appears it could be installed. When mounting my Maxtrax using the Narrow Bridge Plates, I am coming up short and an additional slot would solve the mounting spacing issue. (see attached image)

Could you please confirm:
Is the rack supposed to come with only four T-slots from Toyota, even though there appears to be space for five?

Also I bought this Mounting Pins for recovery boards (https://amzn.to/4se6oEf) but the bolt is thicker than the holes of BASE Rack Narrow Bridge Plate 1780420.
Any alternatives or solutions?

some photos and links.

1) mount locks with keys, good for 2 gal short for 3 gal rotopax (amazon: https://amzn.to/4l6Lc0L)

1.1) I just bought this extension I will let you know if it works. (https://amzn.to/4723eeI)

2) 1 Ă— BASE Rack Narrow Bridge Plate 1780420 (for Maxtrax) but half a pack is missing :((( https://store.arbusa.com/base-rack-narrow-bridge-plate-1780420/
Uninstalled, still waiting for resolution from ARB.

3) 2 Ă— BASE Rack Wide Bridge Plate 1780430 (for Gas and Water cannesters) https://store.arbusa.com/base-rack-wide-bridge-plate-1780430/
wide plates worked great,

4) Rotopax 3 Gallon Gasoline https://www.rei.com/product/246379/rotopax-3-gallon-gasoline

5) Rotopax 2 Gallon Water Gen 2 https://www.rei.com/product/246378/rotopax-2-gallon-water-gen-2 (looks like they are out of green ones)

Let me know if it works out, if it does, I'll follow your lead :)

Update:

The BASE Rack Narrow Bridge Plate 1780420 did not fit my Maxtrax (model: https://amzn.to/4aKWRik). The spacing comes up short. Even after I enlarged the holes in the plates, the total length is still slightly off. If I mount from the outer ends, it ends up too long.

The bolts shown in the photo are one size too small. I did get the correct size from Home Depot and enlarged the plate holes accordingly, but it still doesn’t solve the fitment issue.

Looks like I’ll need a different solution for mounting the boards on the roof. I’ll take a fresh look at it in the morning.

Final Update – All Set

The bolts I bought from Home Depot had rounded / domed heads, so they wouldn’t seat properly inside the dovetail slots. I ground and flattened the bolt heads so they could slide into the slats and sit flush with custom washers.

I fabricated rectangular washers from square stainless steel stock, shaped and filed them to fit the slots correctly, and matched them to the modified bolts (see photos).

After confirming proper fitment, I degreased all the hardware and painted everything black.

To make room for the Maxtrax boards at the front of the rack, I moved one gas can to the opposite side. After adjusting the mounting angles and tightening everything down, everything aligned properly. I also trimmed the bolts so they wouldn’t contact the recovery boards.

It takes some grinding and light fabrication, but it’s absolutely doable.

Hope this helps someone working on a similar setup.
