Can I Add an OEM Third Row to My 2026 4Runner SR5

Hi everyone,

I have a 2026 Toyota 4Runner SR5 that did not come with third-row seats from the factory.

Has anyone installed or retrofitted the OEM third row into an SR5 that originally did not come with it?

I’d like to know if it’s possible and what parts would be required, such as the seats, brackets, seat belts, interior panels, hardware, etc. I’m also curious whether the factory mounting points are already there or if modifications to the floor would be necessary.

Also, does anyone know if an official Toyota dealership performs this type of installation or conversion? I’d prefer to have it done using OEM parts if possible.

If anyone has done this conversion, knows what parts are needed, or knows whether Toyota offers this service, I’d really appreciate any information.

I highly doubt anyone, at any time has done this. Ever. I think you could get an idea by looking at your own vehicle. What's under the cargo deck, for instance? Clearly, you'll need belts, the hardware, thr seats, etc. You can look and see if there are all allocations for the seat belts or if they're covered up by trim pieces or not. This is not a DIO or PIO so I highly doubt any one, short of a custom builder would do anything like it, and they probably won't use Toyota parts.

I would bet a sizeable sum of money that just the parts for this, even on sale, would cost triple what you would lose by trading your 4Runner for one that already has the third row.

Unfortunately the opportunity cost won’t be in your favorite at all. There were 9 trims and you didn’t see this?

OP, I’m sort of in the same spot as you, but in reverse. I was forced to take three rows in my Limited ( only way they came in Canada), but only wanted two.
If I knew I could convert mine to two rows without killing my bank account, I’d do it.
Taking the seats out, would be no problem, but installing a solid OEM floor would be.
