Anyone found a good console safe?

For my 3rd gen Tacoma I had a OEM Toyota console safe. I’m sure they have one for the 4Runner.

Has anyone seen a good 3rd party console safe? Toyota oem is usually expensive.

Have had 3 OEM Toyota safes and one LOCKERDOWN (Now out of business).
Preferred LOCKERDOWM because of optional electric lock pad that was larger and easier to see.
NOTHING wrong with Toyota safe (have one ordered for this ‘25) just wish could get larger electric pad to open (at 77 comes in handy).
Also have one in my ‘23 TRD.

If you get TOYOTA don’t worry about installing it. My first one i watched my Parts Mgr do it and the next 3 I did so telling you it’s simple.

I got the Platinum and the console is TINY. Not sure I can even fit a firearm in there. I loved my safe on my other 2 4Runners, both factory OEM ones. This one looks like after you put the safe in, you would barely have room for your wallet? Any chance you have a firearm and could see if it fits in the safe locked?

Received OEM (my 4th) and took <20 minutes for me to install. Don’t pay for install. Only mark against is not having larger electric lock (I’m old).
couple of pics. Snub noise j-frame or similar size. Not much room. This gun lives there in a Sticky holster.

Thank you. So how much LESS space do you end up with after you install the safe vs the stock console? Are you losing like 2-3" per side?

Can’t say what is lost. But that S&W 637 is 6.3” long. It has about 1/2” total from hitting the two sides as it is laying in picture. Close to same if turned north/south. Room for smaller weapon and i toss in a few Extra rounds. Keep an extra set of car key and house key. Could get a couple of more small items and still get gun out. not much room but it’s safe as i can make it.

there is a post here in the forums where a person had someone attempt to break into the oem safe (its survived, the interior didnt fare so well)

I will say that as someone who knows how to pick locks, I could defeat that console safe in maybe 30 seconds so I know it's not very secure as far as a lock goes, but it prevents the neighborhood kid from opening up my car door if I forget to leave it locked and pulling my gun out.
