Just finished installing the Alpharex Nova series OG-Style aftermarket headlights on the 6th gen 4Runner. Installation was simple, all connectors are plug-and-play from OEM wiring. The longest part was running additional harness to keep the DRL on at all time, make them brighter, w/ cool startup sequences (see video below).

Alpharex this time allows you to pick which DRL color you want, amber or white. Changing them is easy BUT only before putting the front bumper back together. You won't be able to do it afterwards without removing the bumper again 😩

I opt for white DRL to match my raptor lights! Also, I haven't seen 6th gen with white DRL on Alpharex as most chose amber.

Furthermore, I had raised the headlights a bit using the adjustment screws on the back due to having 33" tires. It was aimed a bit lower before the adjustment (even when the Toyota's knob adjustment is at 0 inside the cabin). There are plenty of guide & instructions out there on how to proper aim your headlights and not blinding other drivers. They're very bright & better than stock headlights.

Overall, it was a fun upgrade, with improved in lights output, brighter visibility & completely changed the look of the car 😀

if you have any shots of the light pattern before and after or even just the after on a dark road, that would be awesome.

Here's the before & after; although not the same area but I do notice the brighter lights & bigger area as the driver.

hmmm the alpha's seem to have a tighter band, less side lighting vs oem. maybe just my eyes.

i rely on the side view more than i think since i have to deal with deer/rodents omw to work in the dark

Probably was the bad picture I post. There's definitely a wider light beam. I drive on rural roads all the time and it helps. Ultimately, if you want to lit up on the sides to watch out for wildlife, you'd need ditch lights and have them angle out at 45 degree, which I also have. All headlights are positioned to point down the road due to DOT rule.

yes but i dont need ditch lights when travelling on state/interstate roads at night. you still have bleed off into the side of the road while driving so you can see stuff even with normal headlights.
