yes it absolutely could and I do have a fox wrench to adjust the preload collar. Really didn’t want to lose the front height though.
I may try it however.
it's also possible that your new rear springs are stiffer than stock if you installed https://toyteclifts.com/rcc2-0-p-to...ls-fj-03-4runner-03-gx?find=2025-4runner-1625

If I had to guess I'd say the firmer ride may have been due to
- stiffer rear springs
- maxed out preload on the front coilovers
- E load tires

rather than the shock valving itself, but it could still be very possible that the Fox 2.5 front coilovers have worse ride quality than the Fox 2.0

I have OME 3344`s on the way. Hopefully that will solve the creaking, and the stiffer rear.

Heres a new plan for the coilovers:
I have a 1/4" steel spacer that I could install that should give me 1/2" lift to make up for me lowering the preload 1/4" so I dont lose any height. This wont affect the preload, so theoretically the ride should absolutely get better..
Then another re-alignment.

In hindsight , I should have just gone with the OME lift kit, and I wouldnt be dealing with any on of this nonsense today. The OME kit would have cost less at this point.

From Fox:

The Performance Series 2.0 and 2.5 coil overs and shocks will provide equal compliance and ride comfort for daily driving demands. The larger diameter damping piston and greater oil volume of the 2.5 will provide improved control for more demanding off road conditions.

Both options are preset for an approximate 2.0” ride height increase over stock. Your actual ride height increase may vary due to TRD Off Road trim.

The Performance Series 2.0 is our best selling option by virtue of best ride improvement per dollar.
