I’ve recently noticed that the AC and heat don’t seem to respond accurately to temperature adjustments for the first 10 minutes or so after starting the car. The blower speeds also don’t seem to respond properly — high and low settings don’t change much. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Any idea what might be causing it?

is this a hybrid ? is it in ECO ?
ECO on a hybrid may override HVAC settings to save energy when it can
and also to optimize battery heating/cooling

All our Toyotas do this if it’s set to “auto”… it’s just waiting till the air is to temp before introducing it.

I’m not worried on auto mode. It’s when I am messing with the dial to get it to blast air or heat it doesn’t respond.

Not responding at all? Mine does...remember the temperature setting you are selecting is the temp you want the cabin, not the temp of the air coming out of the vents. Mine seems to do pretty well at that. Sometimes I leave the fan on auto, many times I set it to manual though.
