i think most incoming vehicles are already spoken for and if someone backs out most dealers have a waiting list that is probably 10-20+ deep waiting. its going to take about a year before you will get one on a lot waiting to be sold.

i mean when the 22 tundra came out it took quite a while for them to get non sold tundras.
Just like the Tacomas I expect the non-halo models to be sitting on lots and going for less than MSRP in 6-9 months.

This isn't the COVID market. And since even a lower trim 4Runner model is $50K plus taxes and auto loan interest rates are 7% and up...

yeah people will be paying close to 60k for some lower trims (due to ADM, add-on markups, etc), while i laugh to the bank with my 66k msrp platinum going for invoice at 60k :ROFLMAO:(based on my calcs)

and i am glad i give this dealer my business for not gouging customers and being upfront about pricing either at msrp (for on lot vehicles) and invoice (for pre-sold vehicles) and for the added benefit of never adding extra crap to the window sticker such as ADM or add-on price jack ups.

You are the only person I see on this forum stating that they are getting a new 4Runner at Invoice price. Lucky dog.
there are other dealers not gouging, but they are far and few between. there is a website that tracks that

I am 6th on the list at Olathe, KS Toyota with a deposit last year for MSRP pricing. Two SR5’s and one OR Premium incoming. I think all 4Runner’s in the Kansas City area are spoken for till the 2 wheel drives show up

Patience is key. TRD Jon even advised people to wait for about 6 months or so if they don’t absolutely have to be the first to get one. Early adopters of any new highly anticipated model always get gouged especially when it‘s a Toyota truck. I am on team wait because I already drive a 5th Gen that I actually like and it doesn‘t need to be replaced anytime soon so I’m in no hurry, but if the right trim, color, and optioned model comes along at the right price, I’ll be ready to jump on it when the time comes. By the end of the year, I predict you will have your pick of most of the non TRD Pro/Trailhunter models at most dealers around the country.

What does it mean to have your pick, in terms of price?

Let’s just say MSRP or below without dealer markups. Dealer invoice deals can probably be had with non iforce max models and non TRD Pro/Trailhunters. Look at the current levels of inventory and discounts available on multiple trims of the Tacoma for what you can expect to see once the inventory increases.

I have an MSRP deal now with no dealer markups, and it is 10 months prior to year-end (referencing your prediction). My Sport Premium shipped out of Japan on the 5th and will be in my driveway before the end of March if the schedule holds true.

I just don't understand why you and others base your predictions of 4Runner sales on Tacoma's inventory/sales. The Tacoma has not remained unchanged for the past 15 years as did the 5th Gen 4R. People are thirsty for this redesign of the 4Runner. Look, I owned a 2016 SR5 for eight years and I loved it. I sold my TRD Sport Dual-Cab Long Bed Tacoma to buy that 4Runner back in 2016. As soon as I saw the 6th Gen 4Runner, my 5th Gen was dead to me (LOL, for dramatic effect) but seriously, the updated look of this vehicle, the improved technology, the increased HP, torque and fuel economy, etc., this vehicle is very much different than the 15-year unchanged 5th Gen. I believe that once people that do not frequent this forum or other 4Runner forums, once the general public, including those that currently do not own a 4Runner, once they see these new 6th Gens on the road, demand is going to increase and these will not be stacking up on the lots like the Tacoma's have done. Again, I feel like its an apples (Tacoma's) to oranges (4Runners) comparison. Yes, both are made by Toyota, they share the same platform, and a lot of the same tech, but they do not have the same history. The 5th Gen 4Runneris a dinosaur that was long-overdue for an update. These are going to sell just fine. That said, I could be wrong about everything and might just be delusional because I am thrilled with the re-design and updates the 6th Gen offers.

A local dealer here in the Cincy OH area told me today they have 11 allocations as of now and only 4 had been reserved. First one is supposed to arrive this weekend and hope to go check it out.

See if you can buy one at Invoice Price, of course, if they have one you are interested in.

So far, one person on this forum said they got a deal locked in at Invoice.
