Tested an Ice Cap yesterday. Drove wonderful, but now I am starting the negotiating between two local dealers.

TLDR; Do y'all consider paying MSRP to actually mean you don't pay for delivery? Just doc fee ($225) and tax 6.25%?

MSRP from Toyota's site is $67,700.
Sticker "SRP" is total of $71,952.

This includes $1595 delivery and processing fee.
$2682 of add-ons, most of which I wouldn't have added.

Cargo Lights D-Pillar - $399. I would have actually added those.
Rear Hatch Letter Inserts - Black - $99. I wouldn't have added this as I prefer the bronze to match the wheels.
Ball Mount - $89, naw bro.
Retractable Cargo Cover - $199. Overpriced, but I use them.
Connectivity Kit - $89 for the USB cables, they should be ashamed.
Dash Cam - $499. Way overpriced, but I do like it is fully integrated and warrantied. Can take or leave.
Heritage Grill Letter Overlays - Black Reflective $235. Same, would have preferred the bronze.
Mud Guards - $179. Not for an off-roader.
Vehicle Protection Package Premium - $599. Another ballsy move.
Rear Cargo Organizer - $159. Overpriced, but useful.
All-Weather Cargo Tray - $150. Ditto as above.

They wanted to add two different line items for "protection packages", each for $1999 adding $4000 to my price. Nope.

I guess all of this is to ask, when y'all say you pay MSRP, do you mean closer to, or at $67,700. Or we are supposed to be covering the $1595 delivery. Now, this is a 2025. They have a 2026 on the boat now I could reserve with no money down in Everest, which is the color I wanted anyway, but the numbers are almost identical with what they added on.

I did search through some threads but didn't see this talked about back to January or so.

The delivery is not optional, it really is a part of the base cost.

The dealer can change the PIO options if the vehicle hasn't arrived at the port yet, but many won't do it. Just like negotiating for more discounts, their willingness to make that effort is dependent on supply and demand.

The letter inserts and letter overlays would have made this a hard no for me, other than that I'd look at it like an additional dealer markup. Is the vehicle worth the out-the-door price for me?

I really wanted Everest and wasn't going to budge on that. Given how few Everest TH trims within WA/ID/OR and how many of the dealers put others obstacles in the way of me purchasing I decided I was ok with paying for ~$200 of accessories that I didn't care for.

Thanks for the info. Figured on the delivery, which I'm fine with. The other stuff is different.

Both dealers near me add those inserts on all the Trailhunters, no clue why. The reason I like the TH is for the lack of gloss, please don't add more and charge me for it.

I had to look... all the 17 trailhunters in TX not yet sold have overlays, 16 of them glossy black... Must be something in the water down there!

I am in no hurry. Maybe I just need to build exactly what I want and wait however long it takes. Because I hate gloss black.

Hello all, so in Cali I paid closer to total MSRP that’s with base msrp price + destination fees and installed optional equipment items, rubber mats, digital key, etc…so I paid $69,903… at this time since the Trailhunter is so limited, Toyota is not discounting them below msrp. I would try to negotiate removing the optional equipment price, but then again these dealers know these are limited so they are trying to get the most out of these. Lots of Black Friday deals here $5k to $7k but it’s not discounting msrp price. Good luck!

toyota website only lists MSRP before DPH. you can only get final price if you goto the summary page of a build.

the DPH is federally mandated so you cant get out if it. you could live across the street from the port and you would still have to pay the DPH cost.

another thing, get out of GST/SET regions if you can, those regions add mandatory add-ons you cant get out of that do not exist in toyota usa regions.

it all comes down to, can you save enough going outside the GST/SET regions to justify the drive/fly to pick it up and drive back.

I'm in Texas, so good there. I think I'm going to try and pitch the deal of $73,000 out the door and they need to swap the gloss black letters back to bronze. See if they bite. Again, zero rush to try a car, so I have time on my side.
