Two months ago dealer said “it’s here, 7 days out!”
Today: “July 1st.”
My Ice Cap with red interior just living its best life at Port Everglades I guess….
Oof. I just got word it’s been further delayed. Showing Aug 16th. 😳

What a sick joke! There must be serious issues or part problems.

Does anyone else feel like giving up and buying a Honda or something else?

I am for sure dissapointed, however, I have other vehicles to drive so I am going to wait it out. At some point you would think Toyota would jump in and offer something for those that have had sold units sitting in port hold for, in my case, 7 months if the Aug date comes to fruition. New tires and 1 year of extended new vehicle warranty would be appropriate

I am curious if anyone that has taken delivery of a 2026 Pro had a recall or checked their VIN for a recall. That may shed some light.

You can go to NHTSA's website to look for recalls. No VIN is required just Model Year (MY) Manufacturer.

As stated earlier in the thread, my '25 disappeared for a good long while (several months) and then the dealer texted and said I would receive it soon and it showed up on their lot that evening. My '18 took forever to arrive as well. Relax, you'll have plenty of time to obsess once it arrives

I have had many thoughts of moving on. But then I think how jealous I'll be when i inevitably see a pro drive by me and I'm in something i don't really want. I think the worst part is i have had next to no updates on timing. If my dealer had a concrete answer of, this is the issue and it will be delivered by September 1 then I'd be ok. Not having any clue on timing is ridiculous.

Just found this and it might explain why we have been waiting so long, seems like it’s carried over from 2025 to the early 2026.
been waiting for my pro since January.

The all-new 6th generation 2025 Toyota 4Runner features a new 8-speed automatic transmission. First-year growing pains include reports of a harsh 1-to-2 gear "clunk," delayed shifting, and metal debris found in transmission pans, alongside a broader quality control (QC) hold related to parts and assembly. [1]

Known Transmission Symptoms & Issues
  • Hard Shifting/Clunking: Early 6th-gen owners have documented noticeable, abrupt clunking sensations, particularly when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear.
  • Metal Debris: In some severe instances, inspecting the transmission pan has revealed metal shavings and debris, which often points to premature component wear or manufacturing defects in new models.
  • Recall & QC Delays: Because the transmission shares a direct link to the platform's powertrain, Toyota instituted quality control holds and pauses on deliveries while addressing early-production bugs affecting both the 4Runner and the new Tacoma. [1, 2]

Doesn't explain why other trims are getting through. All i-force max trims are identical powertrains.

The hold seems to be exclusively Pro trims, no?

Oh wow okay. I'm waiting on one that just landed at the port a week ago. ORP MAX with tow tech pkg and many port installed options. I'll update here if anything has changed. ETA is 2nd week of June.

I was told early June was a possibility after the additional 23 day hold around day 83 which happens to be today but still no word or updates. I don’t even have a window sticker generated yet, arrived at port and was never processed got held the day before it got off the ship in March.

Ok I don't know if anyone else as noticed, but Toyota is starting to move TRD Pro's to dealer's lots. Several are now sitting on lots, likely sold or at least spoken for. The first TRD Pro I tried to put a deposit on will be delivered this week. The one I have a deposit on is still idle though.

Yes sir - noticing the same in GA and throughout the SE market. The ones i’ve been tracking just got moved up from late July to first week of June. Mine shows June 8th to be exact, but won’t feel good about it until I get the call that it’s en route to the lot. Hopeful wishing that the light is shining at the end of the tunnel now.
