2025 4Runner TRD Pro in Mudbath @ St. Louis Auto Show - Photos and Comparison by 5th Gen Owner

This was unlocked and available to sit in. Genuinely satisfied with the touch and feel of the interior. Seats felt very comfortable.

Updated with more thoughts:

I was not considering a TRD Pro. My initial pick was a TRD Off Road Premium Hybrid. I switched to a TRD Sport Premium because I fell in love with Wind Chill Pearl and it's not available on the ORP.

The hybrid was a want, not a need, however after seeing how much space the battery takes up in the cargo area on the Pro, I'm totally fine giving the hybrid up. I haul my dogs a lot and I have a feeling that extra height could give them a little trouble. Just my own preference, I'm sure plenty won't mind.

I know not all trims have all the soft touch surfaces like the Pro, but to be honest, even though the material felt nice and premium, it was not as padded or plush as the 5th gen. People have been nitpicking that detail but I really think it's a non-issue. Piano black fenders flares were not a great choice, especially for an off-road centric vehicle. They will definitely need PPF for anyone wanting to keep them glossy. All of the other materials inside like the seats, steering wheel, and shifter felt very nice in the hands. The switches below the center display felt like metal and had solid click feedback when toggling. Center console is very small compared to the 5th gen, but the 5th gen was designed when people carried CDs and needed to store them somewhere, so probably a non-issue for most.

The view out of the driver's seat felt "longer" due to the lower angle of the windshield, but the 4Runner felt nice and square, like you can tell where your corners are and front end ends.

Edit to add that it felt like the tech has finally caught up to modern standards, even though I couldn't turn on any of the screens. It looked new and high tech. Felt extremely modern compared to my 2015.

I did. I'm 6' tall, for reference. The driver's seat was all the way back and the battery was disconnected so it couldn't be adjusted. It was tight behind the driver's seat, but if it were in a more realistic position, it would be fine. Passenger side was comfortable. Comparable to the current gen.

I wanted to see the seat closer up. I am 5'9". The Toyota personal knew very little about the 4Runner. They had done kind a skit show show thing with 4 actors and they were giving out swag. It was kind of ridiculous. How difficult was it to have a Toyota representative that knew a bit about the 4 Runner. Come on Toyota do better next time.

I agree. Before I put money down to get on a waitlist for the TRD Pro (Black on Black) I was asking several different salespeople at different dealers a bunch of questions. Most had no idea and simply used the excuse "Well, they have not actually gone into production just yet so we are just learning the details." I went with a dealership that was very knowledgeable about this 6th gen. model and they gave me a bunch of pros and cons. Maybe everyone at the dealers will no more when they actually get a model to show up on their doorstep.
