According to Toyota, that's the correct way. Check the sticker under the plastic cap on the mounting foot. My intuition tells me the smooth/round edge would be the front, but Toyota must know better than me.

So I did come across that sticker when I took the covers off to adjust the spacing. They're installed with the "Front" sticker facing the front, but it still doesn't make sense to me that the side with the less aerodynamic "lip" would somehow be the front.

By the way, the OEM fog lights are the same across Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra, and Sequoia. I don't want to say Tacoma brackets will fit, but there's a good chance.
