20 min rear lighting option - how to adjust time (shorten period)?

Hi there - has anyone figured out a workaround /manual shut down for the rear lighting ? I sleep in back on trips with the tailgates up and it’s a little annoying to wait for the default 20 min shut down - thx

I've asked this before and gotten no answer. I'm hoping someone sees it this time and has an answer.

I sleep in the back too and it is very annoying to have to wait the 20 minutes.

It is not possible to turn it off unfortunately.

the 20 min limit is locked to general configuration. i dont even think there is an option in techstream to adjust it. not sure since i havent even looked for it in techstream. if its not in techstream, then its probably hardcoded into one of the BCM unit (body control module)

this 20 mins had been a standard for toyota for a while across all models. its to ensure you dont accidently leave headlights, interior lights or parking lights or door open to run the battery down.

recently they have added engine run time monitor to where if you are in park and sit idle for too long, a pop up will show up asking to say yes/no to an automatic engine shutoff after 60 mins.

again to ensure people that lock your keys in a running vehicle the engine will shut off regardless instead of running until out of gas.
