I'm about to install tires on the stock rims I have been storing while the vehicle has tires on the new ones we got right away. The second set will be stacked nearby. Will the tpms on the spares interfere?
What about when I start swapping them back and forth? Can I expect difficulty calibrating the tpms sensors repeatedly?

My second set are dedicated snow tires.

You can register 2 different sets. When the new set is installed go to Settings, Vehicle Settings, Register TPMS, and choose set 2 to register. Drive around for a while and they should respond.
Caveat: I'm writing this from memory so details may be off, but am positive you can do it. I run 2 sets of tires this way. And if you forget to change the associated set when you swap back, the dashboard will remind you;>)

I bought the tires and after-market TPMS today and the tire shop said they or dealer will need to do the initial programming. Ill find out. Hopefully this is not a big pain in the ass. I also found another post stating I must use Toyota sensors. After all the contradictory info I have found, Ill just have to find out for myself. I will report back to help others.

all usa tpms sensors use the same freq of 315 mhz. i think toyota has moved some global models to dual freq to save from having to have different versions of the tpms sensors for usa and rest of the world.

aftermarket tpms may have the ability to do both freq's

to add a 2nd set of sensors you can follow the manual on adding a 2nd set of id's to the vehicle.

they track the 2 sets by the ids of the sensors either 4 ids or 5 ids per set

if doing this in the combo meter

when you register a new set don't be near the old ones, and go for a drive
the system will track which ones are 'close by most often' and can identify and lock into them... then it will ignore any and all other sensors until asked to reset them again
