I'm with you about disliking the ESE in Sport.Today while slowly accelerating, I cycled through the Drive Modes. Sport Mode sounds like my head is in a 55 gallon drum. Carista app coming soon. I already have a compatible OBDLink MX+
BUT are you sure Carista will get you to a setting to eliminate it?
Early on (10K miles ago) about a week after purchase I went back to the dealer cus the air dam was falling off and asked them to fix that and to make a couple of the dealer only changes: all windows down when holding unlock (great in the summer to air things out); quicker response on the unlock all doors when holding drivers handle**; and a couple other things. I also asked them to turn off ESE in Sport and the tech said he could find no way to do that. (and it does not show in the manual)
My solution: I just don't drive in Sport. Rarely feel the need for the response (and I got the OTT tune so less need). It gets up and goes just fine without being in sport. Every once in a while I switch to sport and confirm I hate the artificial noise:>)
(** side note (Nodak may find this interesting): suddenly about 2-3 weeks ago I no longer need to hold the drivers handle to get all doors to unlock - it now works like the passenger side: all doors unlock right away. I did nothing to cause this and thought the feature was broken - I was used to standing there for 2 seconds waiting for the rear door to unlock so I could put my bag in.... but it was suddenly unlocking simultaneously with the front. Baffling but welcome change.)
