too a point. as long as you cycle the gas in them i would think. i wouldnt let the gas sit in a jerry can for longer than 3-6 months (its really dependent on how well the jerry can is sealed to the outside) without a stabilizer. longer if you use a stabilizer.
thats also dependent on what...
really need to get new pics during the day and night time. with the sun hitting the blue it changes color but i think its the phone camera changing the hue (as can be seen in the 2nd pic)
yes with the oem mudflaps, they sit too high, they need to be about 2in lower especially during lower speeds like 35 mph or slower.
this was our 2016 taco with oem mud flaps and the predator steps. thankfully we got rid of it in 2018 for a tundra, problem solved :)
yeah classic silver hides dirt like no other color. i remember my 2010 subie legacy 3.6R in silver. i mean i once went like 6 months without a car wash and you really couldnt tell it was dirty unless you got up close.
and unfortunately i dont have a heated garage so the only melting is from the...
also forgot to add, the oem predator steps snap off pretty easy if you hit them with something. so if you off road, expect to replace them with something better.
meh, i forgot they were bluish until i saw this thread. i mean its about as noticeable as our 23 tundra ambient interior blue lighting. dont notice it 80-90% of the time anyway.
the predator steps are useless for northern tier states. snow accumulates on the leading edge of the steps and becomes an annoyance during winter.
trust me, i found this out the hard way on our 2016 tacoma, never again.
easy to turn it off temp or until ignition off.
temp will last until you hit 30 mph then turn back on via the button
to semi-perm off, hold the button until the dash light for vsc flashes or it display vsc off, then it will stay off until ignition off and reset back to default on, on next...
the gloss black initially i hated the look when looking at pics and brochures, but in person it took a few weeks and now they dont bother me.
tires i will probably keep the oem size, but if i do go with a different size i will uses tiresize/com to compare the +/- speedometer reading with a...
you can put a larger bore size on a smaller hub with concentric ring adapter. just make sure they send the correct ring adapter. on our 23 tundra, they sent the wrong size initially and the tire place had to call them to send the correct size the 2nd time, so we had to wait another week to get...
but that doesnt tell you the details
on the 4R, the turbo is water and oil cooled. so if you run it hard or above normal, the reason you do a cool down is to lower the temps of the oil mostly. the water part will still pump since that is tied to a electric pump motor if i remember correctly and...
just a reminder that if you dont manually reset the avg mpg display, it will show mpg since last reset, not per tank like it did in the 5th gen 4R display after each full tank fill
which annoys me to no end
update 2025-11-13 @ roughly 800 miles :
the door unlock delay is still annoying. i set it via carista to be off and to .8 seconds. cannot get it to be instant like our 23 tundra via carista
figured out the CC controls.
to set the initial speed you use the CC button in the top left
to set a...
it depends on the environment you will encounter. if you have to deal with ice and compacted snow most of the time studded works.
but it you are dealing with powdered or soft snow, tread pattern will matter more than the studs. without something hard to bite into, the studs are useless
a good...
FT4wd only restriction is you can only lock/unlock the center diff under 62 mph.
never had an issue with unlocking at higher than 62 mph in my 2014 though.
sometimes i was a little slow or forgot i was in H4L leaving town going to work. once i get outside of the city limits it goes from...
wasnt trying to be rude, but its actually funny on what toyota did with the manual. previous manuals and not just the 4R, that blurb was buried deeper in the manual. but with so many people complaining/calling/emailing asking that same question, toyota moved the blurb to the beginning of the...
