For phones that go in water, I think the recommendation was to put in a bowl of dry rice for a few days.
I too would open it up, inspect, allow to dry with a fan blowing on it.
I am curious to what you have read here that identified any factual data that says using higher octane in a Toyota 4R will improve long term reliability. I have not seen legitimate proof yet but I may have missed something.
I too plan to keep my vehicle 10-15 years, maybe more. I have a Ford...
Not been able to watch the video yet but good catch. Shell always did the additive thing in its premium.
Still waiting for justification on why using higher octane improved long term reliability?
Assuming using 91 or 93 results in more HP and better response. Does using Tier 1 87 octane cause any damage or premature failure? Seems that DrNick is suggesting that and I strongly doubt that is the case. I am however open to factual and documented evidence stating that running your 4R on...
I fitted a "Battery Tender" cable to the battery and plug it in if its going to site for more than two days. I have had good luck with that approach and it seems to extend the life of my battery based on other vehicles. Battery Tender used to be Made in USA but sadly not now.
My cable end...
Great write up. This is the level of detail that helps other folk. I tend to agree with most of your comments. I also think the backseat design is poor but I can live with it.
I tend to lean towards the guys recommendation. I don't intend to install larger tires, at least those that would change the suspension geometry. I have an SR5, when the tires need replacing, I'll look at wider options that should not change anything. My hope is that I can increase the...
This may not be relevant but I'll throw it out there. I purchased a new Ford Escape 2.0 Ecoboost in 2014. It's the twin turbo engine and certainly quick enough for a small SUV. At the time, I spent hours on the Ford Escape forums and came away that the following understanding:
Using Premium gas...
One of my requirements when buying a vehicle was the ability to run on regular gas. I know many vehicles that recommend 91/93 can also run on regular but I believe that is for a short period, not permanent.
The cost of the additional fuel does not make sense to me. It's a 4Runner, not a...
Ford not making the list... Disappointing. So many variables involved here, many human factors so, I really don't think the data can be accurate. I need to dig a little deeper into the methodology.
1) A V6 option
2) Air Suspension (not for towing, for comfort) or just get a different vehicle.
3) Better quality control
4) Electronic mirror available on ALL trim levels
5) Parking Assist sensors on ALL trim levels.
Finally, you know the 2026 is another excuse to raise the pricing again.
Ah, OK. I do that in foil suspended over the exhaust manifold. Great for Salmon too....
WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY TRYING TO STREAM?
AUDIO, VIDEO, LIVE TV?
Yep, I see the symbols now. Was originally looking on a small phone without glasses :)
I have it figured out thanks to a look at the manual - Around page 96.
The large left gauge is Coolant Temp.
The smaller configurable gauged in your pic are:
Top - Engine Oil Temp (NOT COOLANT). Its typical...
